Age the buck?????

Have been getting this buck on my trail camera since April. Sports some pretty good headgear but is young. I wanna say he's only 2 1/2 maybe 3 1/2 tops. Thin neck to his body, tight stomach. Pretty sure its a buck I had last year that was only a 6 point then. Thinking he should get a pass this year as well, but it will be mighty tempting to not draw back on him if he comes in front of me. Plus with that headgear, I'm not sure any of the hunters in the area around me would pass and let him go. What age do you fine folks put him at?

3 1/4. He won't be 3 1/2 until November.

I'm 50 miles south of you,Farm country deer are hard to age by a pic.I feed em winters and the antlers are huge on 2-3 year olds.Then there are the 1 1/2 year olds that are 6 pointers.one 5-6 year old I was trying for now looks scrawny and 6 points.In his hey day he didnt pass 8 points.Have a experienced peoson check the teeth once you take it.

3.5. His main beams are getting closer to the tip of his nose. One to two year old bucks have much shorter main beams, and 4.5 year olds typically have main beams that will reach the tip of the nose.

That's what I'm basing my estimate on too. Antlers are halfway between the tip of the nose and the eyes.

I think some deer just have big beams... and some never do. Looks like a nice 2 year old to me. If he was 3 it wouldn't shock me but I vote for 2.
