Dale08
This forum goes out to a fellow HSO member and one of me personal best friends that I fished with all the time. I lost a wonderful friend in the name of Nathan Potter and his friend also Adam Jensen yesterday the 20th of December. They both died from carbon monoxide poison at Nathans house. Lets please keep these families in our thought and prayers throughout this holiday season. Rest in peace buddies and Nathan keep a spot open on the shore for me when I get there. CAMAN
So sorry to hear that. Rest in Peace guys. Not that it makes a difference either way but was this his fish house or actual house?

Dale08
It happened at his farm house. His parents just built a new house 1/3 of a mile away from the farm house. His dad was working on retiring from farming and Nate was working on taking it over. The farming and hog operation. Nate was 29 and Adam was in his early 20's and just got engaged. Just a horrible thing to happen to any family. A parent should never have to bury their kid.

RJMOEN
Sorry for your loss. Never good to lose friends or family but its worse to have that reminder every holiday season. Prayers are sent. Side note, REPLACE CO DETECTORS EVERY THREE YEARS!! Their sensors go bad and are pretty much worthless after a few years. Second side note, go look at your furnace and water heater, if its an 80% eff look at the metal flue venting, any rust spots? Can you poke a screwdriver through it? Get someone to REPLACE your flue venting. Look at the two pipes coming out of the top of your water heater...do they have a rusted like corrosion, melted fittings on the insides next to the flue? If so you are backdrafting CO into the house. Bad news. White powdery build up? 92% eff or above(pvc venting)is there water leaking anywhere, signs of rusting in the cabinet? If water can get out CO can get out.
