wormdunker
Ok this may make me sound as though I have a problem......Currently seeking a new drop shot rod. I have 42 rod and reel combos (Smallie/Largey/Walleye 2), only 4 not St Croix. Those 4 are only for non-family guests that have not proven their abilities.....Guide rods. 6 more Muskie combos, 5 ultra lights and 10 ice fishing. Oh and 3 Fly rods. OH AND NONE ARE STORED ON PREMISES!
Superduty
I refuse to publish the total number of rods/reels I own. There is always a chance my wife could read this... If I happen to check out of this world early, don't let her sell them for what I told her I paid for them!
cjac
When the mess of cardboard shipping rod tubes in the corner of the garage gave way and fell onto the garage floor and it sounded like gunfire I knew I had an issue. That and it took three weeks of the recycling bin to get rid of cut up excess tubes....Glad to hear I'm not the only one with an Excel spreadsheet to keep track of rod/reel pairings. LOLSo....too many combos but not enough. I seem to say I'm upgrading rods/reels but can't convince myself to let the 2nd string combos that I'm supposedly replacing go. Mike_Bennewitz
I don't have a ton of setups, but I often will be okay with cutting line to put one reel on a different rod if the presentation calls for it.Rods6'6" Med Spinning7'6" Med Hvy Spinning7'6" Med Casting7'6" Hvy Casting (muskie rod for thick topwater stuff)8' Med Hvy Casting collapsable (6'10" shortened, actually a trolling rod)I also have a 7'6" Rapala Extreme Ultralight spinning reel that dad stepped on in the boat and turned into a 7' rod, gotta fix thatReelsAbu Garcia Cardinal s10 w/4# monoShimano Sienna Rear Drag 1000 w/6# monoGander Mountain Guide Series (older model about 2000 size) w/12# monoAbu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 5500 w/20# fireline fusedAbu Garcia Ambassadeur C3 6500 w/50# Power Pro
ssaamm
I've got a ton of baitcasters and a couple of spinning outfits. Had a guy that doesn't fish much, but golfs a lot with me fishing one day. He said, "why do you have so many fishing rods." I replied, "How many clubs in your golf bag?" There's a rod for each different shot, right. RuddyDuck
So I went to buy another rod that I needed last Thursday, here's how it went: Me: I'm going to Cabelas. Wife: Why?? Me: To buy that rod I mentioned the other day. Wife: You got too many G@d D@#m rods!!! Daughter: It's true Dad, you do. Me: Quietly leave with no more words said, buy new rod from Cabelas. Wife: Crickets when I get back.... Me: Smiling on Sat as I fish with my new crankbait rod! Wife and Kids: Cut my Sat. Bass outing short , as we had to go to the Giant candy store in Jordan and shop for too many hours in a jam packed building with too many people in it! Also spent alot of money on candy. They had a great time! Me: Just kept thinking about my new rod and when I can go fishing again with it as I am stuck with hundreds of people shuffling thru and looking at candy! Juan Grande
Sounds like my typical weekend, minus the rod purchase. Doing a bunch of stuff I don't really want to be doing, wishing I was fishing. Oh well, there's always retirement.

I appreciate every hour I get on the water just because I know you.I also realize how great I have it. Logging 100 plus days on the water in consecutive years with all the commitments I have with a wife and 2 young children.I Also added a pair of rods and reels to my arsenal after a case of isomnia last night. What What Crankbait rod did you buy Ruddy Duck? RuddyDuck
I bought a Shimano Sellus, 7ft, MH. Dietz was right, it is a decent rod for $60 bucks. Fairly light too. I'm sure their are better/more expensive ones out there, but I'm a low budget guy. I used it with lipless cranks and it worked good for me. Probably the end of my rod purchases for the year!
