RK
Sounds like the asking price for Kessler is a 20-25 year old NHL center, a high level prospect, and a 1st round pick. So, Coyle/Granlund, a pick and someone like Zucker, Bulmer, Groavac, etc. In other words - astronomical.Bryz huh? Beat writers have to be giddy about a couple months with that quote machine around. Gave up a 4th round pick in 2014, so 4th rounder in a weak draft. Nothing, more or less. Safe if unremarkable move, and low cost insurance for the stretch run. Could have done a lot worse. The "Brodeur is a done deal" story was talk from the get-go. No way either GM allows a player to play 'one last game' if a trade is agreed upon. Too much risk on both parties.
PierBridge
We got Bryzgalov.
RK
And it was the 2014 4th we received from Buffalo in the Pomminville trade, so really gave up nothing.Oilers also acquired Fasth from the Ducks for a 2014 5ht and 2015 3rd rd picks, Ducks sent Penner to Washington for a 4th round pick, and get Robidas from Dallas for a 4th round pick...so Penner for Robidas, in a roundabout fashion.Apparently 4th round picks are the currency of choice today. Bear55
Perfect! Cheap backup and ride Keumper the rest of the way. Now the big question is do we make any more moves tomorrow? Kind of hope we just stand pat, save the big moves for the free agent market.
bbfenatic
Getting Brodeur would fit the bill quite nicely!
bbfenatic
Sorry....late to the party. Bryzgalov...did we give up Koivu and a pick to get him or just a pick? JK of course. Nice move....great to see at least someone higher up thinks the way I do and wants to make a push this year as well!!!
PierBridge
Thinks like you? You would have given them Miko Koivu & Dany Heatley along with the pic Our new Russian goalie is quite the character he will be a great interview for sure. He once gave up Nine goals on 25 shots in a NHL game...

10,000 Casts
I think we'll see a trade today.. Brodziak, Mitchell and Heatley are on the block from what I've read. If they can put a package together without giving up higher than a 3rd rd pick to get Stafford, Moulson or both, I say go for it.. I'd like to see Brodziak, Zucker and a late pick for Moulson and Stafford..
CaptainMusky
I'd like to see Brodziak, Zucker and a late pick for Moulson and Stafford.. I would be OK with this also. I like Zucker and all, but I am not as infatuated with his game like some people are so I dont see this biting us in several years when he would take off. I dont see him ever being a good two-way player. We have some money to play with which should help seal a deal. The crazy thing is how great the Wild have been playing since around Christmas time and to see they are still 4th in their Division. Crazy. 8 pts behind Colorado, who I think could still be caught by us.Thankfully we have a bit of a cushion over the final Wild Card slot, but if they go on a skid at all they could get swallowed up.They are the hottest team in Hockey right now. Exciting to watch even though they may not always win pretty they seem to get it done most nights.
RK
Apparently Russo confirmed reports that Mitchell has asked for a move too. Kind of get it - he's buried on the 4th line here. Hate to see him go just because he's a good penalty killer and a good 3rd/4th line forechecker, but can't blame him for wanting a shot somewhere else.Really think Brodziak could me moved too. Not sure who you put at 3rd line C (Coyle? Haula?) but who knows. Cooke/Coyle/Nino actually sounds like a nice 3rd line to me... I'd like to see them get something for Heately too, but not sure who would take on that contract unless it was a Buffalo looking for a veteran guy to replace some of the guys they're trading away. Problem there is we're a little thin at wing, especially on the left side.... What to do, what to do...Anyhow, looks like CF left himself some cap room by going with Bryz vs Halak or Brodeur, so be interesting to see what the rest of the day brings. bbfenatic
Anyone interested in a WILD PLAYOFF GAME GET TOGETHER at a location to be determined for us HSO Hockey Nuts? It would be fun to meet everyone and exchange jabs, predictions, and thoughts about Wild Hockey in general? Was thinking about a sports bar someplace somewhat centrally located for everyone.Your thoughts?
bbfenatic
Vanek trade is imminent IMO, they scratched him last night to preserve from injury before today's deadline....will be interesting to see where he goes. My hopes are just a "rental deal" and he still signs with us this summer.

fishing tech
Sounds like Fachings rights are going to be traded to Buffalo as part of a deal with LA Kings. Buffalo is sure loading up on draft picks. St. Louis for Callahan and a couple picks.Heatley and some picks for camalleri talk. (not a fan of this unless they are later picks)
ted4887
New rumor has us in trade talks for Kesler. Edit - Nevermind. Apparently there was some miscommunication on the Twitter. It's the Ducks, not the Wild.
bbfenatic
Snow backed himself into a corner and hopefully Montreal is just renting Vanek and are not able to sign him long term
ted4887
Poor Garth Snow. How inept that guy must feel right now. I wonder if he handed in his resignation at the same time he turned in the paperwork for the Vanek deal? And the habs must think they've got a chance to sign him. They gave up a 2nd and a prospect right? At that price, do you think Wild should have taken a shot at getting him for a late season push, or were they right to hold off? Bear55
Sounds like we got Moulson and a 4th liner for some picks and Mitchell. Not sure on the pics yet, hopefully not a 1st.

CaptainMusky
I am actually surprised by all of the activity this year considering the low salary cap instituted by the NHL.I am not concerned by Vanek going to Montreal. I still say he is wearing the Wild colors next year.Though listening to Nanne yesterday he has definitely softened on the probability. Previous he said it was pretty much a lock, but now he was somewhat skeptical. He even wasnt sure about the Wild making the playoffs this year.Granted there are some games to play yet this year, but they would almost have to lose every game at this point to not make the playoffs because you know those teams behind you arent going to win them all. Yep really improves our lineup, a very nice pickup. If he can click with Koivu we could be dangerous.
bbfenatic
did we finally get rid of heatley or k??? I think they should start the Parade Rout in St. Paul come over to Mpls and then finish back at the Excel Center.
