Doesn't happen often, that's for sure. Funny remark by Yeo, he was gonna go top shelf grin

Pretty solid game from what I saw last night. Keep in mind this was from the worst team in the league with only one win at home. Lets see what tbey do against the Caps.

Wow, that is not good for your week laugh

That was probably the most entertaining Wild game I've seen sine the 5-0 comeback vs CHI years ago. Now for the real test, road games against playoff teams. Let's all hope that Koivu isn't injured badly. He looked like he was in pain the rest of the game.

We decided about 2:30 yestday to go to the game. What a great decision. The wild let those 2 goals in early and I thought it was going to be a long night. Then a couple of power plays later and it was getting exciting. With about 10 to go in the game I thought they were going to give it all back with the dominant push the Caps made and the style of D the wild were trying to play. The best part was the 2 D men on the rush combining for Suter's 3rd goal. It was sweet and we needed those points!

Well wasn't the most convincing win, but we'll take anything we can get right now.

Who was that in net!?!? Kuemper looked like a completely different player. Went from no confidence at all to all the confidence in the world, and even flipped the puck after the glove save in the shootout. I hope Yeo sticks with him to continue to grow his confidence, cause imo that's all that's been holding him back.

And man I love Nino. He's becoming my favorite player on the team!

Wow that is the Kuemper we love! Went to bed early so nice to be surprised this morning with a W. Can't say enough good things about Nino this season, kid is big, stakes well, hits, scores, and is a pretty good passer as well. All that and he is only 21, we flat our STOLE him from the Islanders!!!!

Kuemper shined last night! Great for the kids confidence. I'll be excited to see him get a bit more playing time. Nino is a good young all around player, he's a fun player to watch on the ice. Let's hope that win on the road can snap us back to the right track!

I'm glad a couple of young guys stepped up. I hope they can maintain that level through the end of the season. I hope they don't hang Kuemper out to dry the next time he is on the ice. It was like watching a college game for part of the night. Kuemper was a wall in the shoot out and Nino got Quick to seriously commit to take the extra point for the Wild.

Best trade ever, a mature grinder for a young talented forward. Don't get me wrong I wish Clutterbuck the best but, man we scored with this deal. Every time Nino plays he makes Garth Snow look like the moron he is. I'm glad the Iles know how to develop talent. Giving up on that no talent Niederietter and just think how long it may have taken Okposo to have a break out season under horrible management. I hate the Gophers as much as the next Sioux fan but that,"unable to develop talent," comment still irritates me!

The look on Yeo's face when it happened said it all. It was like what's next?

IDK if the players will wear those boots or if they would even help in some situations but all these foot injuries may force them to avoid blocking shots.

Great win though and another hat trick.

So they had gone 6 games without a win and now 4 wins in a row.

Even their last loss was a decent game overall losing to the blues.

This was an important win but they desperately need both this weekend to create a little separation.

Sweet win. Backy looked strong in net. Nino was everywhere again. I thought Suter looked under the weather or something as there were a couple plays that did not look 'suter-esk'. Good to see Brodzi rip that puck for a goal, he could use the confidence.

    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
