YiGGiN4SLoBS
The Wild rank 26th in shots and 29th in goals for. And they are living up to that tonight.. You can say that again....and again....and again...This team cant score
YiGGiN4SLoBS
Can u say 0-6 on the power play???? PUKE!!!!!!If they cant get this power play figured out they can forget about the playoffs. Right now the other team has a better chance of scoring a short handed goal then the wild do of scoring on the power play
YiGGiN4SLoBS
well... 1-7 is better then 0-6! Seriously though, the power play has been putrid all season long. Hopefully they can build on this one. Backstrom was the first star in that game imoGood to see Zucker score again too. The youth on this team is gonna be fun to watch! I know its not what some want to hear but this team has SOOOO many good young players, i wouldnt mind them trading one away for someone that could help THIS team THIS year more. They have so many young guys that look good i think they can almost afford too!If nothing else, hats off to C. Fletcher for the youth hes put on this team. schmitty3
That game was lifeless until the last few minutes of the 3rd. Wild were lucky to get away with a win.
archerystud
Didn't see the whole game as my PW team qualified for regions so I have practice all week again.Wild came out flat, however I thought they ended the first period strong. I think they had 3 posts in the first along with Parise's almost that was 2/3 over the line before the d pulled it out.I do think the team is generating more chances. I think Granlund looks much more comfortable out there, as well as Suter. I've always been impressed with Zucker's ability to score goals.Heatley did NOT impress me. Getting demoted to 3rd line I would have thought would have lit a fire under his butt but I don't think so. Maybe they buy him out next year although $7.5 seems like a lot to swallow.I wouldn't mind seeing the Wild do some dealing as well. I'd like to see another power forward who can score and maybe another big d-man. I don't think they will make any moves until the trade deadline and see if this team start to catch on some fire.To me the biggest disappointment is PMB. He just looks like he's playing scared out there. .4 pts/game isn't going to cut it when you are making over $4M/year.
10,000 Casts
Anyone know what there options would be on Heatley? Can they put him on waivers and hope someone pics him up? Bad idea?? Right now he brings down every line they try to put him IMO. If we had a player worth $7m right now instead of Heatley, we would be dangerous!Zucker is really fast. I hope he learns from Parise how to crash the offensive zone and dig out the puck. Could you imagine having him on the 2nd line working hard like ZP? They would be relentless!!Grandlund does look like he's getting better! Thank god because he had my hopes slipping a bit..
Bear55
I think its time to tell Zucker to find a place to live, he needs to stay up with the big club. 2nd line has looked good, lot of speed and Seto is playing much much better. After a rough start Suter has been great for while now. That first pair of D have been incredible, can't say enough about what Brodin is doing at 19. I can't remember who mentioned it but he is younger than all the D on the Gopher team except one, that is crazy to think about. I think we have our top two D locked in until Suter is ready to retire! Our horrid PP looked better towards the end of the game, maybe they will start to figure it out. OnAFly
Every team gets a couple buyouts under the new CBA. The Wild could have him out of here within a week if they wanted. Maybe he's a really, really good locker room guy...like $7.5M good! I wouldn't be surprised if they went this route. He just doesn't look like he has it in him to go another season. Maybe Leopold is hoping he retires and he doesn't have to for over another $7.5M next year. I don't get it with the Wild. Every game they come out flat. What's the deal? It seems like they need pressure to perform. Get a horrible period out of the way then realize they're in a hole so they better get working. It drives me nuts. Bear55
Anyone know what there options would be on Heatley? Can they put him on waivers and hope someone pics him up? Bad idea?? Right now he brings down every line they try to put him IMO. If we had a player worth $7m right now instead of Heatley, we would be dangerous! There is a new compliance buyout, not 100% sure how it works but we could still use it on Heatly this offseason if we wanted to. Problem is he only has one more year on his deal so it would only save one season but with the cap going down its possible. Heatly carried a big cap hit but I think his salary is "only" 5M so $$$ wise it doesn't hurt as much as the cap space. Have to imagine if he keeps looking this bad the wild will seriously consider this.
bbfenatic
Zucker looks great but it has been reported he is not well liked in the locker room for whatever reason...not that it matters to Yeo. Again Parise worked his hinder off and was finally rewarded with a goal. Brodin is unbelievable, so much poise, so many sweet little moves, so good on both ends...actually playing every bit as good as Sutter. Defensively they are quite solid, offensively they need help...the team lacks on overall talent IMO and needs to out work opponents to get wins. Musky Buck
My thoughts going into this quick season was our D was unknown and our scoring should really improve, wrongo, but hey in a month or 2 if the scoring peaks at the right time if we can slide into a playoff spot should be fun to watch. Bear55
Zucker looks great but it has been reported he is not well liked in the locker room for whatever reason... What, first I have heard of this. Where was it reported? If anything he's not well liked because he's going to take someones job away, that is a good thing for this team. Bear55
2012 Kings...slide in the last day, 8wks later plan the parade! It's all about getting hot t the tight time Yep anything can happen and its probably out best shot to make the playoffs, have to get hot at the right time. Considering our terrible finish last year and a pretty weak start to the season so far I think we are due to go on a tear.
bbfenatic
What, first I have heard of this. Where was it reported? Russo reported it on KFAN.
OnAFly
Really? That's nt good to hear. Maybe he will straighten out off the ice after a bit. If Oshie can anyone can.
ted4887
Wow, it's nice to see the Wild scoring! Where has this been all season?
Bear55
Russo reported it on KFAN. You want to share some details for give us some quotes or anything? Just kind of surprised by this, I have to think if it was mentioned on kfan it would me on the web somewhere. Zucker is a big part of our future, especially the way he has played since his call up. bbfenatic
Hey...I agree....I love the kid....scored again last night. Why are you doubting this and what is the big deal....call PA today and ask him, it was mentioned on Tuesday's show.....must have been about 10:30AM or around that time. It went no further than mentioning he is not well liked in the locker room at this point....no oooooo or ahhhhhh or oh no; just left it at that. RK
Pretty nice to see the wild get off to a fast start for once, and shows how much the game changes when the other team isn't in lockdown mode. Seems like so many teams in the West play very tough with a lead - Yotes, Nashville, St Louis, etc. Heatley actually looked pretty good last night. Maybe having him with a couple playmakers like PMB and Granlund, and not trying to rely on him as a top line guy is where he fits at age 32. Whatever the reason he looked a lot better last night than he had in a while, even setting aside the goals. Kids looked good last night too. Zucker's goal was a beauty, but I thought Coyle was tremendous down low and along the walls. He protected the puck and really won some puck battles in the offensive zone. Was very noticeable. And hate to keep raving, but Brodin...my Lord is that kid talented. His skating ability is off the charts, and he's just an ice cube under pressure. He's starting to shoot the puck some too. If he ever adds some offense to his game along with his D-zone skills, look out.How about the goal Yandle "scored" off the dump-in? You could try to repeat that 10000 times and not do it. Too bad because Backstom was stellar for a lot of the game. Nobody's said much about him lately, but he's been very very good.Fun game - looking forward to the Ducks tonight. BartmanMN
He's probably just cocky and felt he should have been brought up earlier and the veterans don't like that. I'm sure it's not that big of a deal.
OnAFly
Gonna be a tough one tonight. I can't honestly say I believe the Wild are gonna come out with a win here.
