What key role is PMB playing? Cullen? Ok, Brodziak might get a bit of slack, but the the other two are expendable. To bad PMB did play well in front of Shero or he might have been on a plane to Pittsburgh already.

IMO, we can give up Cullen/PMB/Brodziak for little in return. We have nothing but upsides for losing them with all the talent we have in Houston.

As Russo said today, we need to stop signing role players.

Can't argue with any of that, especially Cullen and PMB, they are skill guys who just aren't producing and it is highly likely they aren't resigned next season. Brodz and Clutter are still useful lower line guys if they can get back to last season's form.

I think it's a pretty safe bet neither PMB nor Cullen are back next season. I like Brodziak. Not off to a great start so far, but that's true of half the league frankly. He's a very solid 3rd line center. Sound defensively, good penalty killer, chips in occasionally on offense. That's not bad for a 3rd line pivot. I think a lot of teams would take him, and he's reasonably priced. If they see Granlund as a 2nd line center long term, that makes us pretty strong up the middle for a while, plus you have some guys down on the farm (Phillips, McMillian, McIntyre) that will have time to develop to see who belongs at the NHL. Phillips lit up the QMJ last season with the Sea Dogs and seems to be the real deal.

I can see PMB being dealt as he's a little more expendable than Cullen. Cullen can still play 2nd line, kill penalties, is decent on draws, and gives them a 2nd center on the ice in some situations when there's a big draw in the D zone or something in case someone gets tossed (which, by the way, seems to happen on every faceoff, and not just with the Wild).

Some big games coming up the next few days. Very winnable game against the Grease then home and home against a really bad Calgary team. Good time to follow up and build on the Detroit game...

Been pretty disappointed with PMB, I thought he'd be a major spark, but he needs a major change of scenery and 1 blow to the melon when you skate low and aren't that big anyway, will end his career maybe so the time is now to deal him. Man I was hopeful he could be Cliff Ronning like on the powerplay, nada, shoot, he could've been huge for us, I'd rather have Guillame Lattendresse back then PMB. Need to go with some real hungry Houston Aero guys.

I was hoping we would resign Lats too but he is having a pretty slow year in Ottawa. Must have caught that Minnesota bug which drains the offense from you body.

I think PMB has some value in the right situation... He can be a playmaker and if he's a second or third line guy with the right linemates, he can chip in some offense. But for the Wild his game isn't where it needs to be for this season, and I really don't think he has much of a future here with all the young guys waiting in Houston, so get some value for him when you have the chance.

I HATED seeing him working the point on power plays. He was a breakway the other direction waiting to happen. On the half wall maybe, but not the point... Not a heavy enough shot from there besides. Was pretty happy when that experiment came to an end.

Explain value please?

So far a ham sandwich is leading which ain't bad for an under-sized, over paid, often injured under achieving "so far" player with a history of concussions which is a HUGE red-flag these days.

A player to be named later would the # 2 expected deal out there as far as I can tell. smile

I think he could bring a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick from the right team come trade deadline or a crate of oranges and bag of pucks. Maybe package PMB and Koivo and get a Leader that will speak up instead of just leading by example. We also could get rid of Backstom, We have the goaltending in the minors.

There are a lot of options but you need a dance partner to do the deal. Columbus has 3 first round draft picks this year. I think that is what I heard. I am sure they would trade one of them but maybe a second.

I think i just possibly witnessed the best game Matt Cullen has played as a member of the wild... Pretty much single handidly won the game and could have had a hat trick and 4 points when the ENTIRE rest of the team was creating nada on offense.

So who was that that was saying to trade him???

Hopefully Clutterbuck's injury isnt too bad....but if i had to guess he's done for the year. Dirty hit

I think hes done for the year to... it looked gross. Looked like his leg exploded. My guess is he broke a bone the way he went off the ice. Maybe torn up knee.

Looks like we need another prospect from houston....
