Got some great new Hex mayfly plastics from Pro Tour Baits, picked up the impressive Fishing Rod Retainer, Pre ordered my LX9 conversion, and best of all met some great new people and caught up with a bunch of great ice friends!

Frabill FXE Task Gloves that usually list for around $50 were marked $39.99 with another 30% off, so got them for $28.

Had a good time at the show today. All kinds of deals all over the place. Got a little crowded but I guess that's the way it gets at the biggest ice show. Lots of new tech and lots of new icehouses and bibs n jackets. Wanna give a shout out to the guys at Reeds, Kevin was working today. Great deals there. Also Wonder jigs, very helpful and cool jigs.

Well Might_B_A_Pike, let me put it this way. As soon as she was done we had to find the Goose Antler Lodge mixes, and she wanted to go crappie fishing last night. I told her we have to wait a while since the ice is none to thick in our area. Won't be long though I hope. I think you are going to do quite well in the contest. The other recipes were good too, but the crappie sandwich was awesome.

I got mine at Reeds as well from Drew. I walked around and get best show prices from all retailers and wrote them down. At the end showed all of them their prices... Drew had the best dal at Reeds. He matched TB price on the Otter and Accessories then Matched Marine Generals Price on the Aqua Vu and said he would take an extra 25 off if I bought both from him. So 750 on the house and 325 on the aquavu.

Not bad for day 1 of the show. Wish I could have gone today.

World’s Crappie’est Sandwich

Ingredients

2 pieces favorite bread or bun toasted

1 large or 2 small crappie fillets

1 box of Goose Antler Lodge Original Lodge Recipe fish batter

1 egg (beaten)

Cooking oil

Jalapeno pepper

Cream cheese

2 slices of bacon (cooked)

Directions

In a fry pan, place about ¼ of oil in the pan.

Heat oil in pan to 350 degrees.

Peppers Prep:

In separate bowls place the beaten egg and the fish batter

Slice the Jalapeno into pieces ¼” wide.

Dip the peppers in the beaten egg then dip in the fish batter so it is fully coated

Place in the hot oil and cook until peppers are golden brown

Fish Prep:

Prepare the same way as the peppers (follow directions on box)

Sandwich Prep:

Once the peppers and fish are cooked, prepare the sandwich as follows:

Spread a thick layer of cream cheese on the top bun

On the bottom piece, stack the fish, bacon, and fried peppers and add the top bun.

Serve with cold beer

Andro, which otter house did you get? I picked up the Resort with 3 seats from TB with the Hyfax/hitch/cover and a Walleye Sweetheart w/Tika reel for $1060.

Bottom line at Reeds for just the house was $860.

Good deals to be had lx7 got two for 570 out the door each! Great deal tried getting a otter lodge but was a little to far apart. Got two custom tuned ice rods for 70 each. And a bag of mini donuts for 5 bucks.
