Quote:
Chase Budinger (left knee) will miss three months after having surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear, a league source told Adrian Wojnarowski.

The reported timetable will take Budinger into at least early March. Hold on to him at your own risk, but the gamble doesn't seem worth it. If Brandon Roy (knee) and J.J. Barea (foot) can stay healthy, they should benefit. Rookie Alexey Shved also stands to garner attention given the Roy and Barea's injury woes.

Early season adversity can make or break your season. So far despite all of the injuries the players are finding ways to mesh together and every single one has stepped up their game in one way or another. With the number of regulars that have been out and will be out for a bit longer, the Wolves have the chance to use this to their advantage to really continue to gel and find ways to win. But overall, their record to date is all about defense and that has to continue for them to hold-off other teams until all of the guys start to come back. We know from last season what can happen when injuries start to pile up at the end of the season so for all you Wolves fans out there, start knocking on wood!

I know it's early to say for sure will happen but if Shved's minutes keep rising due to all of these injuries and he keeps up his stats you should start to see his name thrown out nationally for 1st team all-rookie. It'll be tough for him to surpass the already crowned "Davis" as ROTY, but so far he is certainly proving his worth in this league and to the team. I can imagine him and Rubio side-by-side for years to come in the back-court. I remember Adelman saying in camp that Shved probably wouldn't play very much this year but in retrospect, what would our record be now without him? Certainly not 5-2.

From what I have heard, Pek might only miss a game or two. Nothing serious at all. With the way this TEAM is playing right now, I think they could insert almost anyone and be competitive night after night. Adelman sure is making a difference with this team. It only goes to show that with the right coaching, players buying into the system, and playing as a team, you can win games.

Budinger's injury timetable was pushed out to 3-4 months rather than 2...Silver lining, maybe they have a better shot at re-resigning the guy as a lot of team aren't going to be interested in signing someone coming off a big knee surgery that relies on athleticism as part of his game.

They are saying a week for Pek, and he should be back. The line up has gotten pretty weak with all of the injuries, but it will only strengthen the team for later in the season when everyone is healthy. The players that would normally not see very many minutes, are getting a chance to mesh on the floor. If we can hang on to .500 ball for the next 15-20 games, we should be in good shape. It is kinda hard to jump on the second and third stringers for not playing good with the other teams starters, they werent meant to keep up with the starters.

Think of it this way, our weak lineup, made the game interesting in the 4th, and could have won it. They didnt give up, and roll over. Sure it was only the Bobcats, but they were playing their starters, we were playing our bench.

We are missing 4 out of our top 5 guys.

Love

Rubio

Pek

Buddinger

Then add in

JJ

Roy

That is going to hurt!

Man, I wish they could have had one more bucket in the first half...They came roaring back in the 4th. The team never quits. Charlotte's a bad squad but when you are missing 4/5ths of your starters that'll happen.

We always get the guys we were supposed to get on the back side of their career. Took Roye, should have taken Roy, now we got him. Took Ebi, should have taken Howard, not we got him. Took J.R. Rider, got Cassell at the end of his career. Took Laettner, got Spree when he was much longer in the tooth.

Hopefully Howard can play good D and make some shots.

You have to give them credit for fight and heart last night, but you can't shoot just over 50% from the line and 30-some % from the field and expect to make too many games very interesting! Ouch! If they shoot 45% and 75% from the line they win by 20+!

I turned them off late in the thrid when they were down 15-16. I flip back and see they are down by 2 with 38 seconds left. Bobcats were giving that game to us, but Kemba was ice cold at the very end.

I think Pek is the glue of this team.

he will stay on the roster all year as they had to drop Conroy to get him on the squad. He looked for his shot a little too much and forced a couple of those shots but that is what happens when you get down by 10+ pts. He will be a good addition to the team IMO
