Gobbler activity-hearing any gobbling lately?

Lots this morning like you said it had been pretty quiet lately, but saw fluffed up Toms once again this morning and they were really active and it was like 2 hours after sunrise so what went on prior to that ? Seems a lot of the hens now are nesting or by themselves for the most part, wife is OTC hunting in a few days, they have been patterning well so she decided to give it a go. I think since we all got a bird already she's feeling the urge, we have some really old birds in the neighborhood, extremely long beards anyway, the 2 we're watching appear to have at least a 10-12 inch beard, mine turned out to be 11" and the one we're scouting seems that if not more, we had him at 12 yards last night so scouting was easy peezy. Hope she gets him so we can measure him up, but his spurs didn't seem all that much, I don't know, good luck to all of you still after em.

This is old data.. but gobbling on May 5th was great where we were in Western Wisconsin... from 5:15 to 7:00 w/o much of a letup. Too bad we couldn't get to them due to high water areas after all the rain.. dumb not wearing the waders that day. Monday produced a few gobbles from 5:15 to 5:45 and then a sporadic one here and there with the last one heard at 8:00. I figured Tuesday would be great as it had been a cool night and the sun was going to show itself and I hardly heard a thing.. kind of disappointing but it was a very pretty morning.

Gobble gobble gobble this morning. Found the birds and there was 1 tom with 4 hens, he was fluffed and found 3 toms with 6-7 hens or last years young and those 3 were fluffed up. Then saw a few lone hens the rest of the route I took. More so than gobbling the rooster pheasants were really fired up this morning.

They are still pretty fired up around Montgomery. My dad had one fired up at 5 PM last night for about an hour and said they were going again this AM. I tagged out Tuesday evening after watching my bird and one other Tom strut and gobble for 2 hours between 5 and 7 PM. I piled mine up at 8 PM. Not too many hens left, I think most of them are on nests.
