Bear Lottery is out and permits are DOWN

Recommended Posts

A little surprised by the furthur reduction in permits but, overall, I agree with the DNR bear permit process. I always did think we were over harvesting, over baiting and reducing the size of the average bear taken.

Last year 7050 permits---this year 6000

I'm saving my non-resident "rant" for later.

I hate to have longer waits to hunt, but agree with the reduction...I liked it better with 30,000 bears in the state to hunt! We had a ton more activity on our bait sites 5-10 years back than we have in the last 5 years.

Boar,go to the dnr site and click on the link to buy a license.you will have to enter all your info then it will bring you to a page where you can pick what license you want and there is a bear lottery app there click on it and fill it out.
