Musky Buck
We all know these pro athletes especially the speedy ones can't get a way from being assaulted by their girlfriends or spouses etc. It's self defense man, so what a little right cross to the jaw, it's self defense man, somehow none of them learned the 911 call or that in 20 strides they could be a 1/4 mile away from the women that want to give them fists of fury. soldoncass
It is hard to get a feel for this Chris Cook deal....limited info, misinfo, misleading info "leaked", through media, etc. Neither I (nor you) were there, so we need to go by the testimony that was given ,by those that WERE THERE, and the results of that testimony, from the jury. He was NOT found guilty of any charge...move on. I was on a jury when the prosecution charged a guy with 5th degree assault, for beating his friend up. The friend did NOT press charges, but the county pressed charges, and expected their pictures to convict. They had been out drinking, had a disagreement, and the booze created a BAD situation. I believe Cook makes some bad choices...needs a mentor, to help him make better choices. Stay out of strip joints, bars, choose better quality girlfreinds, never go back to Virginia (stupid laws), etc....are some of my recommendations. In our jury, everyone was ticked at the overbearing prosecution, and acquitted quickly. I can imagine the jury in his case, doing the same, for the same reasons. "I was choked in the fight", is NOT THE SAME as a strangulation charge(felony). I really hope he has learned a lot.....we'll see.
mrklean
if the glove doesn't fit you must acquit greatest line ever
FISHINGURU
We need him, he's the only corner on the team that can choke out Calvin and Marshall.

leech~~
We need him, he's the only corner on the team that can choke out Calvin and Marshall. I don't think he will ever be as good as Joey Browner and his famous collar choke!
FISHINGURU
Joey Browner was awesome, I was pretty young when he was playing but I remember him well.
SkunkedAgain
i believe the judge instructed the jurors that if the defended [Cook} was acting in self defense the jury must aquit him of the charges presented. that's how the accuser presented herself in her recantment. she was drunk, she struck him first ect. Interesting. I guess that the next time I'm attacked by a smaller female, my main mode of self defense will also be a throat grab. This Chris Cook must have watched a lot of kung foo or MMA! pegleg
What Joey Browner did best on alot of his tackles is now illegal in the NFL. It is called horsecollaring... He was the best at it and he had powerful hands to be able to do it.
