Invasive Species Decal

russ

Recommended Posts

I just renewed my license and was given one of the stickers. The person at the license office told me that the little sticker at the bottom needs to go on the trailer below the winch. I asked where the other sticker needed to be placed and they said "On or in the boat" but not within 24" of the license. Now my delema is do i put the ugly POS on the transom behind the motor or inside the live well. "On or In the boat".

Is it just me or everyone else see this too. When the DNR spray and wash the boat its clean and zebra mussel free but doesn't that water just run right back into the lake???? Wouldn't the invasive species just run off that boat, down the ramp and into the lake????

When the DNR pressure washes your boat are they giong to be liable for damages if they tear up paint, factory decals, license numbers etc. ? My guess is not. I don't think there has been much thought been put into this whole bright idea.

Of course not.

The solution is not to allow them to pressure wash your boat and do not stop for the illegal AIS Checkpoints.

for those of you that haven't seen the new decal here it is. I just picked it up today.

like was already stated there is no requirement that it needs to be visible. I am putting mine on the inside of the rod storage compartment in the floor of the boat.

I would imagine if you do not stop or do not allow them to wash your boat you will have even larger issues for sure.

That's basically the line that I got from a couple of the DNR guys at the Great Waters Expo this weekend.. This year is basically to inform people of the new stickers and "ok here's your warning" but if said person decides to throw a fit.. they'll have no problem fining you or worse

That's so they know you knew better than to have weeds on your trailer and fine you. I was given one and told to put it on my trailer, so I did. But it's on the bottom side of the tongue. I'm as careful about weeds as the next guy but that's right next to giving a fine for not having on a seat belt when backing in on the ramp.

actually I did not miss it. the pic I posted was scanned before I placed in the boat and by the winch. so don't jump to conclusions with out getting the facts first.

I bet the majority of the sticker protesters have decals/stickers on their vehicle windows.

"Hey, look at me I'm a wannabe pro fisherman / hunter", but you won't put a sticker on your boat trailer? The sticker appears to be small in size and will be hardly visible.

On the lake I won't see the sticker because it's on your trailer parked at the landing. Traveling down the road I won't notice the sticker on your trailer but I am sure I will see your vehicle window stickers.

Why didn't you post that fact first? blush

In the garbage.

Is that where your tickey for not having it on the boat and trailer will go? No biggy, just a court date and a fine. What's a few hundred bucks ha.

Can't wait to see your posts about the ticket you will recieve for not complying.

Just do not know what the big deal is with putting a decal by the winch that one can hardly see and one in the boat. Heck, you can even put it on the bottom side of a storage locker door.

The court houses give them out where you register a car or purchase your license. But, many do not have them or they did and are out as they go fast.

You can call St Paul and get on a waiting list at the DNR and they will mail you one. No worries about a ticket as you need to have it on by 8-1-2014.
