HOF#13
Did you all see her crash yesterday in the 1st Dual race. SCARY! That was a massive hit! Credit to the safety of these cars and making the driver's wear the Hans device. 10 years ago that would have been a fatal accident. Here's the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=_wtzioHXq8I
CAMAN
Wow! That in-car roof footage made me cringe! It's also amazing how she had the sense to take her hands off the wheel while going 180mph into a wall! I don't think I've ever seen another stock car driver do that before. gregg52
that was a nasty hit shes lucky that car turned side ways and didnt hit staight on i would think she's alittle sore today bummer for her it was so close to the end and not her doing
lawdog
It was a big one. Letting go of the wheel is an open wheel thing, that's how they are trained. Makes sense though, the wheel can really jerk around when you hit hard and if you are hooked onto it, you could easily brake a thumb/finger if not your wrist. There were a few joints a few years ago playing aroudn with solid aluminum wheels instead of spokes for just that reason so your hands weren't hooked by anything in a crash. TR21HP
Pretty impressive to come back the next day and get pole for the Nationwide in the back up car.

SkunkedAgain
I don't think I've ever seen another stock car driver do that before. I said the exact same thing to Mrs. SkunkedAgain when I saw the crash last night. I had no idea that it's normal in open wheel racing. That's probably why I had no clue! Nasty crash though and awesome that she turned that into a pole start for the Nationwide
Double D
She looked pretty ticked at her teammate for today's wreck. She needs to hold it together a little better than that.DD
Bryce
Wonder if Vegas lays odds on her even finishing a race? Over/under on laps completed maybe. Not all her fault but a tore up car is still a tore up car.
LMITOUT
75/1 for her to win. Worst one on the board.
gregg52
you can get a bet on how times they say her in vegas!!..loli'm pretty sure she will wreck today as will another 20 or cars...lol

SledNeck
Shes over her head in Nascar. Right now they are saying shes good for the sport. (Pretty shallow is you ask me). When she starts really causing trouble for other drivers through poor skills/inexperience...the tune will change.Wonder when shes gonna start getting physically in other drivers faces after races, like she has done her whole career. She plays that "protective female bubble" for all its worth
gregg52
ya i dunno only time will telli think shes deserve a chance its no small feat to beat 45-50other people to sit in the pole...both wrecks she was in were not of her doing..she could of done a better job saving that last one as DJ mentioned in the broadcast...is she good for nascar???/ i'd say she's bringing more money to the sport right now...how long will that last??again time will tell!is she over her head in the cup serious??? i think so sam hornish couldnt cut it up there and he's got what 3 championships in indy cars...jaun m who knows about him..maybe a different team he might have different out come who knows..i will say this ganasi and penske are loyal to their indy drivers...i'm bettin brad k doesnt make the chase this year and nor will the dinger..i bet kurt finishes higher than both of them come years end

Bryce
How about a give her a godaddy tank top and have her stand on top of the hauler. Just as much tv coverage and way less tore up cars. Can only think of two reasons I would hire her to run even a go kart
pikechaser
3 crashes in 3 races @ Daytona..... That tank top dancing on the hauler soundin good
SledNeck
Maybe they thought she would be good in NASCAR because of the way she dominated indycar?
HOF#13
Not a real fan of Danica's, and I do agree with Sled to a point when he said that he thought she was in over her head. I think she is as far as the cup series is concerned. BUT...gotta stick up for her a tad bit. None of the accidents she was involved in were because of something she did wrong. She was simply a victim of others mistakes. The Nationwide series is where she needs to stay until she can get comfortable, learn, and prove she deserves to be up with the cup drivers. fishinchicks
She's running 10 Sprint Cup races this year. They are trying to give her seat time on tracks with the big boys, which isn't much different than Trevor Bayne last year. I gotta say, though, that she handled herself and her car very well yesterday. She was still on the track at the end of the race, unlike Robby Gordon. It seems to me that a lot of the people putter her down just don't like the fact that a girl has a chance to make it in Cup racing. CAMAN
I don't understand why everyone is so up in arms about her racing in the Cup? She's scheduled to run, what, TEN Cup races this year? She's far from a full time driver, and. it's not like they're bending any rules for her to race. She has a ride that is willing to back her and give her some seat time. Exactly like everyone else just starting in the Cup, or any racing series for that matter. The more seat time the better IMO. And not one of the wrecks she was caught up in that I had seen was of her doing. Maybe we should all pile on Jimmy, or the others who are drafting way too close in the corners and actually causing these wrecks! Oh, yeah, that's right, they're men, they don't do anything wrong, it's always the woman behind them that caused the wreck. I must have been mistaken thinking this was 2012 and not 1952...All that really should matter at this point is she is bringing more fans to the sport, and also giving NASCAR more publicity, not that she is in her ROOKIE season in Cup and still figuring out how these NEW cars handle just like everyone else on the track. CAMAN
+1 fishinchicks!! Ya got me by 28 seconds!
SkunkedAgain
During the long delay last night, they showed Danica standing around chatting with some of the other drivers. My wife made a comment about hopefully Danica doesn't start a relationship with one of them and marry another driver...because THAT would get NASCAR fans up in arms. My comment was that could have an effect, but fans would probably get more up in arms if a male driver married another male driver! I'd pay money to see that.I'm all for Danica or anyone breaking into the Cup Series. Surely Danica has much of her popularity because of her looks and NASCAR is using that to their advantage, but when you're trying to break through the barriers of any sport you've got to use any advantage that you've got. She'd probably have a tougher road into Cup racing if her face looked like a used tire.
CAMAN
I got a good chuckle during the red flag when they showed Danica go up to a couple officials and clearly ask where the restrooms were, the camera then followed her for a bit while she went on the search. I don't remember ever seeing them follow a male driver to the restroom before.
