State Park sheds...

Recommended Posts

I pulled a decent 4 pt side out of Whitewater about 5 years ago. Guess I never thought that it would be illegal at the time.

I think you should bring it back and put on the ground where you found it!!!

Just kidding, I wouldn't lose to much sleep over it.

Back in the day when I was more hard core for sheds we would go through all the Three River Parks and pull sheds out. I guess that is illegal too. Something kind of bugs me about that. A regional park or State park that is paid for by tax payers, I don't think it is to big of a deal taking squrill food out of the woods!

The thing is, you aren't even allowed to walk off of most Three Rivers Park's trails.

And ya, definitely different laws for different state lands. The original question was for State Parks. Pretty sure were in the clear in State Forests and WMA's. Please correct me if I'm wrong on the WMA's.

Than National lands....

Jameson, you are correct that you can go into WMA like Whitewater and pull shed out. It is actually one of my favorite places to shed hunt, tons of land and there is some dandies to boot. It does get a ton of pressure though!

Tonkabass, I got a warning a few years back for being off the desinated trail in French Park. Kind of a joke law in my opinion!

With the exception to berries and mushrooms, nothing can be removed from the park. At least that's what I was told when I called Wild River.
Some Parks like Elm Creek will not even let you take out Shrooms. I went there once just to ask about it and the lady at the front desk freaked out on Me!! crazy
