Scott K
While our secondary is one of our huge hole in our team, we have already picked up a couple scrubs to play in the back field. Their OL is terrible, and is in need of huge help, Kahil is that help. Unless the Vikings get their socks knocked off of them with a great trade, I just dont see any better option then to take Kahil at 3. There are planty of other decent DB that we can get with our 2nd pick, but I doubt we go that route with our second pick either. I see Kahil with our first pick, then either Janoris Jenkins, or Stephen Hill with their second pick. Then with the later picks, adding line backers, and a center. LABS4ME
Hey trust me... I think Kalil is 'the pick' at number 3. I just think that Ltl Ricky and the coaching staff are fawning over Caibourne and really have him as good a pick as Kalil. I really think they are 50-50 which way to go. Kalil should be the way... time will tell. I highly doubt that anyone will trade up with any decent offer that they should consider....Good Luck!Ken
james_walleye
I think there is little to zero chance they take claiborne. I think that was all smikescreen trying to put another name out there for teams to have to trade up to get.I was thinking Jenkins in the 2nd to until all this garbage about him has come out. He admitted to teams he never did quit smoking dope after getting kicked out of Florida. I wouldn't touch him.
Fish Head
The only way they pick Claiborne is if they trade down, and I would say that is unlikely. Kalil might not be a playmaker because of the position he plays, but he is the best player available AND he fills a big need. When you can get the best player available and it's in a position of need, there's nothing to think about. Kalil in Rd 1 and probably a receiver or DB in rd 2.4wanderingeyes- A center?? They just gave Sullivan a big long term contract. With all our needs, They won't pick a center in the first 5 rounds.
Nick Kuhn
The only way I see the Vikes passing on Kalil is if someone is making an offer similar to the Redskins for the #3 pick. Seriously, the Rams GM probably needed an emergency celebration beer after hearing that deal agreed to.

The Vikes won't get anything even close to that.
TR21HP
FishHead, They could use a center as Sullivan just isn't a center. Move him to guard, his natural position, and draft a larger lineman. Sullivan is getting mowed over half the game, he's too small and has the wrong body type for a center. He needed help all year on the inside with double teams and that's why the outside rush got to Ponder so often, that and Load on the right side just isn't quick enough. dwacker8
Wont matter since the house voted down the stadium bill.
FutbolGuru
If they're smart they'll draft a lot of defense after round 1. The Vikes aren't winning anything until that shutdown D re-emerges.

Believe me, I've never been a fan of Sullivan. I think he's undersized too and I was shocked that they gave him that contract. However he did play much better last year than the year before. His 1st year as a starter he was pushed 2-3 yard back on every play. He played better last year (still not very good in my opinion) and was rewarded with a contract. They like him as a center and there's no way they draft a center or replace him this year. I don't think he would be any better as a guard either.Charlie Johnson will move to left guard after they draft Kalil. They still need to find a right guard. Possibly Chris DeGeare or DeMarcus Love? zepman
They also drafted Fusco last year and he backs up Sullivan and should push for the right guard starting spot too. Fusco played very well when given the opportunity last year.
soldoncass
New thoughts.....assume the Vikings f.o. think Love and/or Johnson can adequately man LT. They get a great offer from Miami for #3(#8,#40,and 2013#1rd).....doing so we would probably miss on all this years blue-chippers.....we decide to go all in on shutting down the center of our defense, by taking Kuechly (mlb) at #8, and best safety(Smith/ Iloka) available at # 35, Miami's second round spot#40 take bpa corner or wr. What would you think about that idea? We could fill in bpa gaps in positions later picks. If he is healthy I like Datko-ot,Compton-ot, Dale Moss-wr,Adams speed wr,Gray-rb,Martin-dt,Veldman-tall te,etc. Thoughts?
TR21HP
Tannehill is going to fall into Miami's lap as it is so they won't need to move up for that but I do like your position picks in the later rounds. How about that moron D.B. from Northern Alabama that has had three arrests, kicked off Florida State and has 3 kids from 3 separate women so far at the age of 22? what are you thinking when this goes on in your life at 22? james_walleye
Jenoris jenkins. He would have been right with patrick peterson last year had he come out. He was kicked out of florida. Goes to north alabama. Probably a first rounder but admits to scouts he is still smoking it up. Now who knows when he gets picked.what a moron. Talk about ripping up a winning lottery ticket. TR21HP
You know some team will take a chance on him and try to change him and when it fails he will be cast aside like eveyone else that's traveled that road.

james_walleye
A couple names I hope they look at later are marvin mcnutt and ty streeter.
soldoncass
There are 3 guys that would NOT be on my draft board...anywhere...not even within" mistake distance". DB Jenkins is one, LB Vontase Bursich is another, and WR Streeter is another (reminds me of Troy Williamsons "hands". No way I want any of them nearby. james_walleye
I would take streeter in the 4th and beyond no questions asked.
soldoncass
I watched a workout Streeter was doing, on t.v., where a QB throws passes, while the receiver runs patterns.....Streeter DROPPED 2 or 3 out of 4 balls thrown to him. Reminded me of dropsy Williamson, that's why I don't want him at all. Some things can be taught, but soft hands isn't one of them.

soldoncass
The draft starts next thursday....yes they will be here....none of US know if WE will be however. In baseball a good defense starts with solid to super up the middle.(ss,2b,cf) I really believe football is the same way. Immoveable tackles, fast hammering mlb, hammering safeties. You don't come into the middle without paying for it. I'm looking for our P.Williams, Urlacher, and Lynch. I think Kuechly or maybe Kendrick could be the mlb. Gotta find the safety. Maybe in the old NFL..With GB, Det and Chic in the Div and the new look pass happy NFL you need pass rushing De's, corners that can lock people down, WR's that can actually get open and stretch defenses and a QB that can get the ball out quickly and accurately. We got Jared Allen and thats about it...Cant wait to see what Spielman has up his sleeve on thurs. Ought to be very interesting. After a FA period in which we've addressed absolutly nothing IMO, he better know what hes doing. I doubt Zigmundt will be putting up with another 3-13 season when hes desperatly trying to get a new stadium. I kind of feel sorry for Lesley F.... I dont think he has much of a chance with this bunch and he'll be the first scape goat, no doubt.
