Saw a bunch of thin ice on ponds and small lakes today in the tc metro. It is finally starting to happen. This time, last year, I'd been out a few times already. This year, I am just hoping that Day 1 is within 2 weeks from now.

I have only hunted for 2 hours in Mn. Done in North Dakota and now starting Mn for the muzzleloader season. I don't shoot fawns so it takes a little longer than some.

I have enough fish from the great fall eye bite. Cannot fish until I eat some so no, no need for ice yet. Heck, one can still take the boat on the river.

I just finished up muzzleloader hunting, so I'm praying for very cold weather too. Once there's a good coating of ice, I like to see a little wind. Nothing builds ice faster than a little wind over bare ice. I am probably the most hated man in my family right now
