So far today at work i have read, and reread almost every post on here, went to my brothers office and talked deer hunting, came back to my office and talked a little more hunting and now back on the boards. I am TOTALLY focused on work!!! 3:30 wont be here soon enough!

It's like this EVERY year, and it's always fun to see this exact post and laugh about it with you guys! For the past 5 years, I have passed the time the week before rifle opener by reading these posts (that are also posted at this time EVERY year!):

- Who's having trouble concentrating this week?!

- What are your deer camp traditions?

- When are you heading out?

- How long do you sit?

- What's your weapon of choice?

- Anyone else not seeing deer this week?!

Keep 'em coming fellas, because they get me through the week!

This is my first deer season since I retired in February. Somehow I thought it would be easier after I retired to stay busy and not get so fired up. It's just the opposite. I now have more time to think about stuff and it's way too easy to stop what I'm doing to check to see if I forgot something on my list. That, and I'm forever checking here to see what's going on. I almost wish I was working...ALMOST! Well, no, that's a lie! Retirement is much better than working.

The same environmental factors that bring about changes in deer for the rut, bring changes in hunters for the hunt. Restlessness, one track mind etc.. Good luck and lets be careful out there.

Not to mention my neck started swelling up last week and the only cure for that is to get into the woods and start chasing deer. Hopefully by Monday night the swelling will subside!
