MB heres an answer to your question about the necks. Remember when you were 8 or nine and girls were icky? Then move foreward to your teen years when they smelled nice, looked nice and you had a curious interest in them? Then move to the late teens and twenties and you had more then an interest in them because they smelled good or looked nice? Then move to your 30-40's, might look or smell nice but I'm thinking it may just cost me a little, not quite sure what.....well, you get my drift. Not saying the old bucks aren't brought in by a hot little doe but just kinda going from life experience here wink Sorry ladies, this was tongue in cheek but does have real applications for deer hunting.

Hunted tonight and saw 4 does, nearest was 40 yards, right as shooting light was fading had a buck dogging a doe within 30 yards but was to dark to shoot. Had one other lone buck scent checking and criusing but not within shooting distance.

"Rut" things I've seen since opener.

On sunday, I had does walk by. A buck came from the way they came about an hour later following the same trail. He had his nose to the ground a lot.

That evening, I had four does under my stand for a good 20 minutes.. then a little ~3yo buck came by chasin' em, and the does all ran from him.

I've seen plenty of scrapes around as well.

I tried out rattling on monday, didn't have anything come in.

Only Sm bucks during daylight on camera up until last tues. Wife called me at work today to tell me about the big buck behind her Home Depot at 1:15. Asked her if she saw a doe. She said "I just saw a huge body and big antlers"

Perfect evening tonight for a sit. Hit the stand by 230 and saw nothing tonight. I talked with a buddy that was out this am and he reported that he saw deer moving all over and that there were numerous bucks hounding does. Tomorrow am I'll hit the stand again and sit till 11 or so and see what is moving in my neck of the woods. This is a strange time of year when it can go from nothing to shooting time in mere seconds. Always try to be alert and ready because you never know when a doe will get chased by with a buck following her or running her hard. I have had the experience where 3 bucks were running 2 does and I was able to get at my grunt tube and grunt as they ran by. Surprisingly a doe peeled off and came back for a look and she got whacked shortly followed by one of the bucks that peeled off to follow her. I have also had the experience of does getting run hard that nothing worked to stop them even tried shouting hey one time and the buck and doe just ran right on with what they were doing. You just never know, good hunting!

Yeah no kiddin there. My buddy whacked a doe that was being chased by 5 different bucks a couple weeks ago. He had to yell to get her to stop at 10 yards. After the shot the closest buck stayed right on her till she dropped 30 yards away. The rest just stood there wondering what was goin on and dispersed...He said it was rediculous! Too bad they were all 1-1/2 year olds...

It's beginning to be big buck time now, the rutting moon was on Thurs. From this point on the real big beasts will be coming out, I'm glad gun season is over this weekend and I have the rest of the year to myself on the properties and surrounding properties I hunt, wooooooooooooooooooo.

I'm heading out this evening to see what if anything is moving in my area. I have a couple mature does and a few bucks still showing up on trail cams so maybe one will show while on stand tonight. Good luck out there!

One lone grunting buck in all of the wind tonight. Smaller 8pt came through grunting like a little piggy. Seemed like the wind was picking up more and more throughout the evening. I'll probably make it out Thursday night before heading to Wisc for the weekend. Keep plugging there are still deer on the prowl out there!
