2011 MN Buck

I was in the woods around 230 because it had just stopped raining and felt like a good time to be in there. Saw a nice buck walking in and tried to sneak on it but it kept quartering into the wind and I lost it in the brush. So I backed out 50-60 yards and climbed into a tree with the tree saddle. Around 530-545 I saw a buck in a little opening in the clear cut only 40 yards away but, to thick for a shot. I got good video of it, its actually the 9 pt I got pics of in velvet on my swamp island, has a crab claw on his right side. I grunted and snort wheezed at him but it didnt work. He got lost in the brush again. Then a little before 700 I heard a deer coming through the pines because the leaves had stayed dry, and when he finally came out he was only 15 yards away. I saw he had good antlers and just assumed it was the same 9 pt. So I got the camera on him and took the shot at 12-13 yards. The angle from the stand put the arrow upper shoulder down through the heart and exit pretty low on opposite side. He only ran 20 yards and piled up, done. After I got down and pulled him up, I realized he wasn't the bigger 9 pt but still a great buck. The video is pretty dark, but with some editing it should be fun to watch. I got ahold of the girlfriend and she came to help drag it out the the 4wheeler. All the time, money, and effort has been worth it! full-26771-12990-pic5.jpg
