I love camping in the fall. The weather is perfect and there are fewer people.

Yep, I have 10 days of camping to get in in the next couple of months. Can't wait, some boat camping, solo canoe camping, and some canoe camping with others.

Love it when the sound of gunfire in the distance starts to stir ya up from the tent in the morning. No bugs.

Sitting around the campfires in weather that is made for sitting around the fire.

I camped last weekend, and will spend this weekend on the Croix camping/fishing as well! Nothing like free air conditioning!

I've got my hallpass stamped for the last weekend of September to go solo into the BWCA. I can't wait...it's been a few years

We just got back from a long weekend up by Finland/Isabella. Have a 4 day trip scheduled at the end of the month on the North Shore. Nice to be able to sit by a campfire and not get chewed up by bugs. If it weren't for camping with other family members I would save most my time off for Sept and Oct.

Two weeks before Memorial Day get a lot of my attention as well for pretty much the same reasons with the bonus of good shore fishing at night. Hard to beat sitting by a fire with cold ones watching a lighted bobber.

I absolutely agree but it's also football season for my son so all of my saturdays are shot for a while.

Agreed that camping is awesome now, but also +1 on having kids in school and busy weekends!

This is my second favorite time of year to camp (winter is first, more lines in the water and even fewer people). I remember my dad being very patient while I played football in the fall. He loved to grouse hunt and camp without bugs but he let me do my thing. After high school (no scholarship for my football skills) I was able to commit more time to him and our grouse hunting. I hope my daughter and I connect the same way after she is done with schooling. She's a volleyball player and that takes place in the fall.
