RiverFish
Does any one still sell this to the public? Going to college in ND I worked at a Supermarket that sold tiger meat. It was good stuff.
reinhard1
believe it or not eating raw burger was common in germany when i was a kid. i can understand why some would be concerned. you need to know, and feel comfortable with the place that you buy burger from. the last time i had it was when i bought a whole chuck roll and ground the neck area for burger using the other parts for steaks, roasts and boneless ribs. i just grabbed a hanfull of the neckmeat and put it on some whole grain bread with onions and salt and pepper and enjoyed it.i knew the meat was freshly ground, but there still is a risk. not something i have often at all. a service counter in the meat dept. and knowing the butcher and asking him to package a freshly ground pound for you would be the best way. however i would not recommend eating raw meat as a rule. i had a guy i worked with for years who would take a chunk of lean meat at times and just snack on it while working. still ticking. good luck. bobbymalone
Does any one still sell this to the public? I would think that there would be a level of liability involved should someone manage to get a nasty E. coli strain. Not saying you will die from eating it, but I would follow Reinhard's advice about it. Even then though, I've got a PhD thesis on the shelf about E. coli and worked with the nasty nasty strains in the past... No thanks, I'll stay away. Haven't given up oysters and sashimi yet though

Ebiz
Having grown up in Milwaukee I can't remember a Christmas or New Years party that didn't have raw beef and onions with rye bread.

curtistodd
I buy this every time I go thru Aberdeen, SD. They sell it at Kessler's grocery right at the deli counter. They even give free samples. Its delicious. I wouldnt eat more than 1/4 pound in a night thought. It does get me scared after a while. Ive never gotten sick. Once I get tired of the texture, I just fry it up and its a hamburger. A spendy hamburger!Give it a try.
