Hot weather fishing apparel?

I wear a lightweight, longsleeve shirt, full-brim hat, sunglasses, socks/sandals, and plenty of sun-screen. This outfit works pretty good for me. I don't take the heat very well and had a bout with skin cancer as well so I'm protected as much as is possible. For pants, I wear jeans a lot but they are hot so loose fitting cargo-type pants are worn quite a bit. It's the best I can do to keep enjoying the sport I love. full-130-10237-dscf4338.jpg

I have a all white long sleeve fishing type shirt that works great for letting air in and reflecting the heat. I also have a Columbia fishing hat that has a long brim and light weight cloth around the back that will almost hit my shoulders in white. I do need to find some light colored/weight pants.

I'm fair skinned and really like the big C, GM, Columbia, etc light-weight and long sleeved fishing shirts and pants. Can be 90 degrees and no wind and am still cool. Two pluses are no sunburn and less bug bites.

GM carries some SUPER-lightweight long sleeved shirts that I use sometimes, though that's usually to keep the bugs off more than to block the sun. They're very comfy even on hot days. They also claim to repel bugs, but I think that's more marketing than anything crazy

I have the lightweight Columbia and GM fishing shirts and zipper legged pants. They are about as cool as they come. I make sure the shirts have the vents and the pants have the zip out legs. Can be sort of expensive but worth it when fishing in HOT weather.

i wear an old t-shirt and shorts and plenty of sun screen. i'm sensitive to the sun and have to watch it out there. a good hat and proper sunglasses also.. dont have the money like some of these other guys grin, and dont have any brand name in mind. my fishing pants come with ventilation over time automaticly. good luck.

It doesn't matter where I get it, but I use polyester clothing. It stays nice and dry.

I find deals on work-out wear and buy that. Nike stuff is really nice. I have a north face shirt that is decent too.

32 years ago as a green pea apprentice the first journyman I worked with told me to remember three things. Protect your ears, protect your knees and protect your skin he always wore a long sleeve shirts and not wanting to be different so did I. Today I still follow suit you will never find me in shorts always a tee shirt a Carhartt twill shirt and jeans. Bugs the H E double hockey sticks out of the wife but it is my life.

The Columbia outlets always seem to have plenty of their fishing shirts on sale. I've got a couple and they're pretty good

Thats where I get mine when they have my size. Not many 3X Talls around.

On those sunny days I use a wide brimmed hat. I've got one made by Mountain Hardware that is lightweight has Sun Vent material. I think that is the name. It allows heat to vent off but limits the amount of sun that gets in. For shirts I use some light weight long sleeve fishing shirts with the button up sleeves made of a cotton/poly mix that I got from either Gander or Cabelas. I wear convertible pants made of the same material. For me when the temp starts getting over 80 and the sun is bearing down I usually say "to heck with it" and head for the shade till evening.

+1 on the columbia clothing, cant go wrong and i luv it. that is bout all i wear anymore for fishing or anything else. outlet stores can have very good deals. 2 years ago i bought 5 pair of zippered knee pants @ $20 each, retail was $100. was also just at GM last week and they are putting fishing shirts on sale now, picked up 1 for $25, normally $40. columbia also makes spf protection clothing and well ventilated around arms and back. i am beginning to like this stuff so much i stopped buying UA cause i think its more comfy & can find it on sale more often. hoping to get to albertville yet this week to check on sales and look at a nice outdoor wide brimmed hat for fishing, camping, & garden.

FYI, i have shopped albertville really well, if there is an item that they usually have in stock but out of in your size, if you ask, some stores will put you on a list and the next time your size comes in, they will call you & let you know. a store did this for me and even went so far as to take cc# over phone and mailed it to me with no shipping charges, cant beat that service if u dont mind waiting.

Under Armour heat gear is awesome, first started wearing this for football in High School, they make a long sleeve, feels like you don't even have it on, they make bottoms too but prob is not acceptable to wear in public, the Columbia khaki, pants/zip off shorts are nice, nice that you can have shorts for the shallow launches and still have the pants option.
