Good/cost affordable womens bow

Recommended Posts

I am new to the sport of Archery (a few months)and my wife has shown interest in acquiring a bow for herself. I haven't a clue what to get. Like everyone else we do not have the money to waste but do not want to get something that is inadequate either. So with that said any suggestions on bows that would give adjust-ability to poundage settings so as she develops , she can turn up the poundage a bit at a time and something that will be dependable. At this moment she has expressed an interest in hunting with the bow and not just target practice. Thanks in advance for your opinions and suggestions.

Bought my gf a mission maniac, has poundage rates from 30-70 pounds, 23-30" draw, i bought mine new online for $275 nice bow. Look around online and you can find some great deals. Have also heard the Mission craze is a good bow.

Jay is talking about the Mission also.

Mission is a great bow at a great price. The Maniac does not go up to 70, only 52lbs. However, the Craze does go from 20-70lbs and is also a great bow.

The difference in price between the Maniac and Craze is about $30 and I think its worth it. They are extremely adjustable and are very user friendly to work on. The Craze is about a half pound heavier.

I bought the Craze for my daughter just a month ago and she loves it. Its the last bow she will ever need. If she decides she doesn't like archery anymore, then I have a nice backup bow. grin

not correct they have a 70, 60 and 50 model, the 70 goes from 35 min to 74 max, the 60 is 27 to 64 and the 50 is 20 to 54. We were looking at the craze at first which i liked but then she looked at the maniac and she liked that better fit her a bit better then the craze. The guy at scheels said the craze was there hottest selling bow at the beginning of the year couldnt keep it in stock

Lots of good suggestions above. If I was getting my wife a bow I'd be looking hard at a Hoyt Ultratec from a few years ago in a poundage she could handle. You should be able to pick up one for not a lot of money and they were a rock solid bow...

Another one I'd consider is a Bowtech Guardian from about '07- sweet shooting bow and would be just fine for a gal if in the right poundage. Again, you should be able to get one for not a tone of money.

Neither of the above bows are made specifically for women. However, if you get it in the right poundage it'll work great and the bow doesn't know if it's a guy or a gal who's dropping the string on it...

I also will say yes to the Diamond Razors Edge...I also have an Alpine Archery bow that was in getting serviced and there was a delay getting it back so I bought a Razor...easy to shoot right out of the box. See Kay at Gander in Bemidji and he will make sure your wife gets everything she will need without adding a bunch of extras[Note from admin: Your post has been edited. ...just a thought. But the Razor is nice.
