with tomorows highs in the eightys i decided to start the count down to firs ice. going with a december 1st date there are 205 days to go! untill we can indulge again.

I like where you head is at.

Yesterday's weather was awful. 94 degree heat index? Are you kidding me? Looking forward to winter weather advisories again!

It's time to double check how you stored the shack. No food in it, no baits, nada...clean and pristine.

Mrs Mouse likes to move in early in the spring and make here nest. You could have 2 generations living in it by fall.

Best to check now and be sure the shack is clean and Critter Prof then find it's patch and De-Stink time come late fall.

After spending more time ice fishing this past winter then ever before. I kinda miss it now! I miss knowing that there is fish down there on your flasher, and the relation of your lure to the fish and bottom. It was all so simple and right in front of you.

Now in open water, there are so many variables. Wind, moving boat, waves, dam jet skiers and wave boarders, bugs and mosquito's. Not being able to control my lure as much as I could while ice fishing was a weird feeling!

I'm actually looking forward to hard ice again. But until then, well for sure enjoy the summer! But come Halloween, the itch will be on for sure!

Should I feel guilty to be looking for ice fishing deals now, instead of enjoying the weather? Just bought a new 6x6 hub for $99, $80 of the retail price. Gonna love it! Trying to decide whats next. I know I need a new underwater camera. But that LX-7 is gonna be a must buy. I know where my xmas money is going!
