he should really be able to run this team and create some excitement in the Target Center!! He will need to work on his mid range jumper and his shot all together but he can handle the rock and dish it pretty good even if the defense was sub par in half those clips.......Can't wait to see him in a Wolves uni alongside K Love, Wes Johnson, Mike Beasley, and Darko

I think that Darko might show a little more promise maybe with Rubio...if not him we have the big ox (can't think of his name) from overseas that was with us last year and I think as he learns the NBA game he might be a decent player.....o and I forgot we will have Williams coming off the bench!!

i saw monta play this year in oakland, that kid can flat out play would love to see him in a wolves jersey

No to Monta. Monta is an undersized 2 guard that play no defense, also BALL DOMINANT, we'd like Rubio with the ball most of the time. I prefer we stick to Wes at 2 with Webster backup and we draft Brooks at #20. We'll need a 2 that can shoot the lights out and sneak baseline for a dunk with Rubio running the point, Wes Johnson, Webster, JR Smith?

ESPN is the world leader in hype and releasing stories based on rumor (uh, Ed werder...need i say more?), but it sounds like Rubio said himself he's joining the Wolves. Exciting.

I hope the kid is ready to work his butt off, the Wolves really need a PG that can control the game and not turn the ball over (ahem, Jonny Flynn..)

I'm already getting excited to watch Rubio lobbing alley-oops to Derrick Williams, Wes, and Beasley...we should at least be fun to watch!

Let's get a good discussion going on about Ricky Rubio and the Wolves...that Lebron thread is getting pretty tired...

Amen to that. I am about sick of hearing about Lebron. Maybe the wolves aren't as good as a LOT of teams, but they are still our team.

I hope Rubio does do well. The wolves are going to have a very young and talented team. Kinda reminds me of Oklahoma City. Minus Durant of course. But I think they have a shot of creating a very exciting team. Give them 2 years and a good coach, and they could possibly be pushing towards the playoffs. A lot of the teams that are good now are getting OLD. There are a few good young teams, and I fully expect MN to be right up there.

As expected, Ricky Rubio announced on Friday that he will join the NBA next season.

Rubio admitted that his most recent season was disappointing. "I have to improve a lot as a player now," he said. "I have to gain weight because the game in NBA is harder. Next week I will be in Minnesota for the official presentation." We will watch him closely throughout the summer, but are skeptical about his fantasy value as a rookie.

Rubio will be in Mn tomorrow for a press conference. The more I think about this kid, the more excited I get about him. I think Rubio will make an excellent NBA PG in a couple years. I think they need to take it slow on him, due to the hype, we cant force him to be good, then have the fans and media turn on him, and have him give up. Take it slow this year, and work him into the system.

I don't like this move, but here's another rumor.

2011 NBA Draft Rumors: Could a Pau Gasol for Kevin Love Swap Benefit Both Teams?

That would never happen.

Most of the rumors regarding Gasol involve our second and some of our scrappers to dump salary, or Beasly and our 20th.

A rumor that is more likely to happen though would be for Bogut.

The Bucks and Wolves have discussed a trade that would send Andrew Bogut plus the No. 10 pick to Minnesota for the No. 2 pick plus cap filler, sources tell 1500ESPN.

According to the report, the Bucks initiated the calls. If true, it could mean that they are concerned about the long-term health of Bogut, who struggled badly with an arm/elbow injury last year and has missed 76 games over the last three seasons. We doubt the Wolves would want to take on Bogut and his massive salary, so simply consider this a yellow flag looking toward next season on the Australian.

personally i would like to see love traded in the next year or two, yeah that guy is an amazing player but the way he beats his body up getting boards its gonna take its toll on him

Rodman was alot scrappier and played for what seemed like forever.

I think if the Wolves got another good rebounder on the floor, Love wouldnt need to sacrifice his body as much as well. The Wolves wont be trading Love any time soon. He is the nucleus to this team.

Just remember - McHale brought in Love. He could be trade bait for Kahn to build around an unproven backup guard from Spain - I mean Rubio the savior of da t-pups. eek

We'll find out here soon. Then again - isn't the NBA going to have a lock out this off season?

I'd do that Bucks deal provided Bogut passes a physical that examines his long term health. The guy brought a lot of passion to Milwaukee and when he got hurt they floundered. He was a big part of their success. And he bought a bunch of tickets and gave them away to fans that would make noise and be boisterous, like Rugby fans in his native Australia...The Wolves would still have the #10 pick too. I like it.
