The point system in Europe is much different then ours. He also doesnt take very many shots. Very seldom do Europe players score into the teens, they are more of a team team, then an individual team.

ok...so explain the 4 assists?

I just don't like the guy, and would rather not see him in MN. He made it clear he doesn't want to be here, aNd to quote Dan Barreiro " WE DON'T NEED YA!"

I am pretty sure if you asked 100 Pro basketball players if they wanted to play in MN, or a different club, I would say your going to get pretty close to 100 of them saying they dont want to play in Mn. So if your using that as your point, we might as well not get any player, because none of them are going to want to play here.

As for the 4 assists, he isnt the starter on the team, how many assists do you expect a back up point guard to get? I know, why is he the back up?

I dont think he will ever be a All Star point guard, but I think he will make a good one, he wont score 30+ points a game, but he will also have very good assist numbers in the NBA. I also think he will be the player to draw in fans, he is fun to watch when he is allowed to play his game.

Well if Dan Barreiro doesnt think we need him, then obviously he must suck crazy

Agreed that no player would pick MN as their first choice...but the fact that he REFUSED to play in the NBA because MN drafted him is what leaves me with little interest to see him play here(after he told the Wolves that he would not come here if we drafted him, so it is mainly our own fault)

That being said I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...I just don't see him working out in the NBA...my vote would be to deal him now and get what you can get for him (although it probably won't be much)

he is interesting but I think a stat I heard on a national radio show was that he shot 29% from the field this year and that is not very promising but with the excitement and the build up that has developed over the years with this kid I want to see him in a Wolves uni unless they manage to trade him for a decent big

European stats don't translate much. Here is Brandon Jennings stat line when he played in Italy compared to his rookie year in the NBA:

Italy

5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 steals

Rookie Year with the Bucks

15.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals

Pretty much all the NBA stars that have played against Rubio internationally say he is going to be very good to great in the NBA. I'd love to see him actually play for us. I'd be fine with us trading him as well, if we could get a high draft pick or an up and coming player. Anything would be better than him sitting over in Europe.

I'm with you Dylan33. I don't care how much a player shows promise and potential, attitude means everything ESPECIALLY on a team with a losing culture. I'd love to have Rubio with the Wolves but some problems aren't worth having. The difference is between the normal player that casually doesn't want to play in a cold-weather isolation like Minnesota versus someone who will derail his NBA career to not play here. To me, that's an important difference in why the Wolves should trade his rights.

That's OK, I don't necessarily like him either. It's tough to project what kind of a player he'll be in the NBA. Like I said, I'd be fine trading him too. With so many NBA teams having financial problems, the one or two year revenue bump through jerseys sales, ticket sales and increased fan interest must be attractive to some teams. In fact, that's probably the reason the Wolves wouldn't trade him - they need the money and fan interest the worst.

For a player that has never played in the NBA he sure gets a lot of attention, not only here but nationally.

Well, considering he would of had to pay big money to come play for MN after we drafted him, I dont blame him for not coming then, and as for him not wanting to come here now, I think that has a lot more to do with the media then him directly. All quotes I have seen that came out of his mouth have been promising, all negative stuff has came from NY media. As for him having a bad attitude, I dont think so, he is actually a very positive person according to his coaches and fellow players.

and like I said, I dont think he will be a All Star, so if they dump him and get something good in return, I wont have any problems with that. I just think he is what the Wolved need, someone to bring in more fans.

The need to either pi## or get off the pot with this kid. Sick of hearing about it. Bring him over or trade him, but do something!!! This team needs all the help it can get!!!

Quote:
Ricky Rubio has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Timberwolves next season.

He didn't play well for his Euroleague team this season (which is still in the playoffs), nor in the 2008 Olympics, which was the last time most of us saw him play. In other words, he's still far from a lock for solid fantasy value, but with the great chance he'll start for David Kahn and the Wolves, he'll at least be worth drafting in most leagues. Stay tuned as details unfold over the next few days.

I'm as pessemistic as the rest of you about bringing him in... the only thing that keeps me interested is the fact that he plays with the pass first mentality... which works out well for some point guards in the NBA.

On another note - I hope we don't trade down from #2 ... take the kid from AZ. Take the best player available and lock him up for ten years... I hate the fact that any of us on this forum could run the franchise as well if not better than the people currently in charge of player personel.

It wouldn't be a team that wins games, but it would sell tickets: Love cleaning glass, outleting to Rubio at halfcourt, hitting Wes Johnson on the wing or Beasley for the finish. Trade rumors swirling for many guys out there. Monta Ellis would be fun to watch.

Hopefully the rumors are true so we can at least get a look at the kid.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
