Monday morning opening of B season we saw 15 birds all mainly hens, but also a few jakes and toms. We we're able to call many of the hens into our decoys with no problems but not so much with the males, so I stayed optimistic for Tuesday...we set up in the same place at the same time and didn't even hear a peep...now this is my first time turkey hunting....did we do something wrong or does that sort of thing happen...also what should my next move be for tomorrow morning?

Secondary question...if I don't get a bird can I purchase an over the counter tag for one of the two late seasons?

#1 the birds are really moveing around in some parts of the state as the winter flocks are splitting up and maybe they moved off the property or they just left the roost and went a diffrent direction.

#2 No only 1 tag can be purchased in MN.

wow, sorry, nice to hear this was happen in different areas. Didn't hear a gobble till 11 am this morning, never seen a bird on post.

Yesterday had 5 toms come in just how you want. Talk about woods exploding with gobbles!! It was a great afternoon yesterday. Now if I can only convince my finger to squeeze!

Some days they just don't feel like making a sound. Then some mornings and days they will go most the time. You need to glass areas see were they are going. One day them might come into your calling and the next the hens might lead them out another way. You need to find out were they go if you are not seeing them or hearing them. Try and have a couple different spots to setup try and have a couple optioins. You do not kill too many birds off the roost. That % is low. I know it will happen but most birds that get harvested will be later mornings.
