Made it there today. Walked around and drooled over a terrova i-pilot. But didn't pull the trigger. I'll give it one more year and save some more $ for it and wait for the price to hopefully drop a little! I did buy a crank caddy to try out and turned 2 containers into 1! Awesome product! Lots of other things I could have bought on impulse but passed on, my sights are on the terrova!

Best $8 bucks Ive spent in a while. Saved $230.00 on new HB SI and got the new version LM chip and Ram mount thrown in with purchase.

Seen some real good deals, on rods especially.

Wish I could swing a new HB this year. Next year for certain.

Picked up a Tica musky 8'6" rod and an Abu Garcia Record 60 reel for a decent price from Thorn.

Oh, and 50lb Suffix 832 at Reeds.

Was in and out quickly before the credit cards started smoking.

Once again, fairly disappointed by the show. $15 gas, $10 parking, $10 admission, $10 in snacks... almost $50 and I hadn't even bought anything yet smirk

Nice to say hi to some folks though. smile

Can't always put a price on enjoyment. If we did that, none of us would own a boat or half the other stuff we have. I go out of tradition. One of the rites of spring IMO.

I wasn't even going to go until a friend volunteered to drop me off. So NO gas or parking overhead and I had the 2$ off coupon so 8 bucks total.... I brought my own snack "snickers"!...

I listened to seminars by Schara and Walleye Pro Jason Przekura the latter being very informative.

Lots of great deals at the show. Some that I ran across that are worth noting;

- Reeds Hummingbirds, big discount, comes with free lakemaster chip & ram mount

Wow, when I was at Reeds I inquired about HB 597 and the guy didn't give much a discount and he didn't mention the free chip/mount. I may have ended up buying one if he would have mentioned a better deal. I ended up getting a couple rain jackets from them at a great deal.

Nobody who went there on the weekend should have had to pay for parking. There were plenty of meter spots to park at within 3 blocks when I went Saturday, and parking at meters is free on weekends (and after a certain time weekdays).

Nobody huh? That's a lot of parking spots. smile

Actually I did buzz around a bit and found nothing on Sunday. Ended up in the 2nd ave garage, which was still a bit of a walk for $9 bucks.

Sure it's fun to check out all the new boats and gear, but my opinion is that there shouldn't be any admission charge at all. Every vendor in that building wants our money, they should pay for us to get in. smile

My dad picked up a Garmin handheld at Reed's for $50 off and a Lakemaster chip for $20 off. They had great deals on flashers too. I would have like to look around longer but my little girl threw a gigantic fit when the waterskiing dog was done. Nothing I tried consoled her. We had to make a quick get away.

Getting a solar or electric lift kit(not sure which one yet) to put on my boat lift. I get too tired form catching so many fish that it is to hard to crank that wheel to get the boat up when i get back(yeah right I wish).
