What other position do you put him at? Would getting rid of Valencia (which will probably happen anyway because we won't be able to afford to resign him because of Mauer's contract) be worth it to move him to 3rd? Can't move him to 1B, our best player (pre concussion anyway) is there.

He'll just have to tough out being a catcher this year, become full time DH/backup catcher next year, so at least then he'll be in the line up everyday.

Yes, he needs to catch for crying out loud. AJ, Pudge, Posada, catch day after day and season after season without sitting out for aches and bumps and soreness.

probably outfield is where he needs to go. gotta think (if they are smart) that cuddy is done as a twin after this season unless he's willing to sign for about 1/6th his current salary and be a backup and that leaves right field open. problem with that of course goes back to getting rid of ramos last year.

hope it doesn't happen but could also see valencia being moved at some point. danny isn't gardys favored "aw shucks" type of player so wonder if that will eventually lead to him being in the doghouse.

Next year when Thome retires, DH him? But that is a huge contract for a DH.

Make a left fielder out of him and use him as a backup catcher and a DH. You now should be able to get at least 140 game a year from his bat and suffer some with the fielding.

One way or the other they are paying him way too much for him to not be playing a significant role somewhere. They need to put him where he can be the greatest value to the team.
