tunrevir
Well once again Mike has shown why he is one of the most feared drivers on a superspeedway! I can't understand why anyone out there on the track would want to be anywhere near this guy. Tunrevir~

harvey lee
Many more drivers just like Michael. The list of drivers who caused wrecks is simply to long to list.I guess when NASCAR puts on a demo derby, what would one expect, simply alot of crashes.Lets see, the record for crashes was 11 and with about a 50% increase, now 15. Thats great to have the worst race ever with their new rules.
Sifty
My guess it all the drivers had there hands full. There was no side draft and with there being no pack racing they where on the wheel the whole time.Sifty
harvey lee
I would guess it may have been the hardest ever on the drivers trying to keep thewir car under control. 200mph and pushing and you cannot let up and you can see nothing. One does have a spotter but by the time they rasio the driver, no time for a fast reaction.

fishinchicks
If you look at the wrecks Waltrip was involved in, he was the pusher. Robby Gordon, on the other hand, caused his by being stupid. What was his spotter telling him, anyway. Gordon's the headcase.
harvey lee
I agree that R Gordon is an issue.
SkunkedAgain
Both drivers that were being pushed by Waltrip when they wrecked, immediately said that it wasn't Mike's fault. I'll attribute it more to bad luck (for Mike) than anything. He didn't seem to do anything wrong in the replays. The cars being pushed seemed to make changes that caused the wrecks. The second guy even said that he checked up but forgot to tell Waltrip.I'm not a Michael Waltrip fan but I still don't see a reason to crucify the guy, except for choosing bad drafting partners. harvey lee
Some simply do not like Mikie so it is always his fault.

PurpleFloyd
I agree that R Gordon is an issue. +1 I am amazed he is still racing. Some years back when I was watching racing if there was a wreck you could pretty much make money betting he was the cause. It was very similar to the late 90's Vikings offense. When a penalty flag flew you knew Todd Steussie did something again.
fishinchicks
And how many Daytona 500 wins has Jr had? How many wins has he had lately? There are plenty of drivers who could fit the same reasons you guys use to bash Waltrip. It gets pretty old.

Double D
I don't mind Waltrip one way or the other, but man, that new "NAPA Know How" commercial with him and Truex was BAD!!!DD

gregg52
they both seem to be around where the crashes are all the time probably not their fault alot but if you cant run up front not to say there arnt wrecks up front but seems more are back in the packsame guys crashing the nemachacks salders(i wonder how long havick will put up with him) kvpails etc etc same ole same ole
harvey lee
Everyone cannot run up front. There is always many mid pack and back. Many times guys will drop back to see how they will get the needed run at the end. Then they get caught up in the mess. It's super speedway racing at it finest. HOF#13
I thought / hoped Mikey would have a good race, but he really did struggle to get in tune with pushing another car through the corner during the 500, and all of speedweeks for that matter. I like the guy, but by lap 100 I did not want him anywhere near a driver I liked in the "race"...and I use the term race very, very loosely. That was rediculous.Robby Gordon...geeze, what can you say? For all the racing that guy does, far too often he can be a complete hack out there on the track. fishinchicks
Sorry, 88fan. The way your post fell in line with others, I read it that you were talking about Waltrip.Waltrip is only going to run a handful of races this year from the way it sounds. Even without him in the races, there will be wrecks, and people mad that their driver was taken out. There will always have to be someone in the middle/rear of the pack where traffic gets tight and things happen. I just think it is childish to pick on one guy simply because he is there. I love a good race rivalry, and I love to cheer loudly when my guy is doing well. I love ribbing my family members about their driver, but it stops at name calling and insults. I would hope we can have that attitude here.
gregg52
Harvey I understand that i didnt mean just daytona i meant those in general at all race tracks seem to be in the wrecks more often than not
