Need campground suggestions

Does anyone know of campground that has group sites? For tents? We are trying to organize a family reunion camping trip and having a hard time finding places to pitch a tent period, much less about 8 of them. Hopefully within 3 hours of the cities but open to all suggestions.

No Wifi, swimming pools, hot tubs or fitness centers required this isn't a trip to the spa. All I need is a picnic table, a beach, a dock to tie up the boat at night and a campfire ring.

Thanks for any suggestions.

bearhead state park has all that for you. make your reservations as early as possible. i go there 2 or 3 times a year. the group site is away from the general campground. the campground has excelent showers, fish cleaning house ect. also can buy firewood and ice at the rangers office. fishing is great. it is located in ely area, and can check it out on the internet. if you need fishing information just ask. also has 2 trout lakes within the park area. good luck.

A bit over your 3 hour limit, but check out the two group sites on Fall Lake just outside Ely. Huge (I think you can have up to 5 rv's there) with their own flush toilet and shower. Private dock on the lake. Check out the reserve america site or just google it.

Beaver Creek State park in SE MN is kind of a neat place. Lots of tents sites. We stay there when Turkey hunting. wink

Opp's didn't read the part about tying up the boat. No lake at Beaver Creek! Sorry. frown

That campground has been recently renovated. It is extremely nice. There is also a group site at the Whiteface campground about one hour north of Duluth.

I think there are also group sites at Stony Point (Leech Lake) and Norway Beach (Cass Lake).

There are a couple of state parks closer to you if you don't want to drive too far. I know Lake Bronson has a lake with a fishing pier. Take a look at the following link that gives you a map. Hit the campground icons and you will get a description.
