chasineyes
Doing a chili feed tomorrow night and I was wondering if there is any combination of alcohol to mix with cider for an interesting taste. Thanks for the ideas!!!

hoggs222
Cinnamon schnapps is a great idea. How about Apfelkorn? It's like an apple flavored wheat spirit, like a wheat vodka.

mixxedbagg
I like to get a crock pot going with apple cider, some orange slices floating in it, and a few seasonings like cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Dip out a cupful and add a shot of blackberry brandy and a cinnamon stick. Good stuff in the autumn!
Redlantern
How about just buying some hard cider? About as strong as wine or a strong beer and really tastey. I prefer Hornsby's over Woodchuck.
Big Dave2
Get a hold of some everclear and make apple pie.
nofishfisherman
Hot cider and brandy is a favorite of mine in the fall and winter. Its so good. Just heat some cider will mulling spices on the stove top. I don't add the brandy until I serve up a cup because some people prefer not to have the alcohol and of course some people prefer to have a little extra of the brandy. This has been a great winter treat the last few winters. An easier option is to clean out a large 40 cup coffee maker to get rid of any coffee taste, and use that for your cider. The mulling spices are wonderful, and it's easy as you just dump them in and let it simmer. If you know you are dealing with a strictly adult crowd, you can put the brandy in directly about a half hour before serving (have to do it to taste ) so it all warms up. Great for what ails 'ya! huntnfish
I like the apple pie. Very good in the icehouse! I think its gets better the longer the cinnamon sticks soak in there. Definitely warms you up, but be careful it will bite you back. Cicada's recipe sounds about right.

LMITOUT
mmmmm.... Apple Pie. Add a little vanilla extract for ala mode. I prefer the North Dakota flavor of Everclear. Iowa may have it as well. That 151 stuff just doesn't do.
