da Bears/Packers

Cooter

Should be a fun Monday night game - one of the two will be on top of the division. Pack should, repeat should, be 3-0 after tonight. No guarantees in the NFL though, especially on the road. Heard Bulaga might get the start tonight in place of Clifton.

Is that really how you want the Vikings to make the playoffs?? To back their way in?? Why even bother?

Take it any way you can get it and never feel the need to apologize.

Half the teams every year back their way in....

Darn zebras may pull even with da Bears in total yardage before the game is over. Refs win! Refs win!

I'm thinking of forming a Fantasy Ref League. You draft a team of NFL refs and if one of your refs throws a flag, you get the points equal to the number of penalty yards, i.e. a 15 yd facemask means you get 15 points.

I'm really frustrated with the refs this season in every game I've watched. I swear they are getting more TV time than the players. Is the game that sloppy or are the refs getting too involved in these games?? It just seems way overboard in these first three weeks and it's really ruining the game.

Why even require the QB's to wear pads? They can't be sneezed on without a penalty getting called. Is this football or soccer?

Nice running game Packers...I hope you're all wishing on that lucky star that rodgers can actually get to see week #8 with all the times he has to drop back and pass.

Almost impossible to be a one dimensional team in this league and be successful...Rodgers will have unbelievable #'s all year long throwing those 5 yard passes...didn't see him even TRY to stretch the field once. Must not have a very good relationship with his receivers yet. All-world #'s and 17 points.

Nice "belt" move on the running touchdown....

God...it's easy to hate the Packers!!!

The Bears will never win the division this season.

Keep thinking that. Went to the Super Bowl a few years ago and weren't anywhere near as decent as they are this season. Last year they looked bad because of Uhrlacher being out. They are a good team, trust me on that.

Won't happen, they are decent but not good enough when it comes down to it.

Yup, Cutler had four interceptions called back by penalty last night. Peppers was a beast and the only way to keep him from sacking Rodgers was to hold him. The Bears are pretty bad on offense but their defense and special teams will keep them in games.

The Packers offense sucks for two reasons:

1) No #1-quality running back

2) Offensive tackles are playing terrible

The loss of Ryan Grant is worse than I thought, because Brandon Jackson is much less prepared to handle the #1 role than I thought. He's a great 3rd down back but it ends there. Kuhn is just a big, power runner.

Clifton and Tauscher just can't pass block the elite players right now (or anymore). They had to hold Peppers to prevent sacks on Rodgers. I guess that I'd rather do that than lose the down and take a chance at your QB getting hurt. Their run blocking is terrible too. All that combines to make the Packers a pass-first team and that let the Bears play the pass.

Favre succeeded with a 1-dimensional team in 2007 because he was brilliant that season. Rodgers and his receivers will have to match that to make up for it, and hope that Ted Thompson pulls off another Ryan Grant-esque trade mid-season to get a quality running back.

Overall, I'm not worried though. This is the kind of ugly game that I expect and like to watch between the Packers and Bears. I hope that it's equally ugly with a few fist fights and body slams up at Lambeau on January 2nd. The Packer's offense will find its groove, much like the Vikings offense will do the same. The defense will benefit from having a more balanced offense and spending less time on the field. It will all come together.

Intersting game for sure. The pack are a much more talented team. Hester pretty much carried the team with his punt returns. The Bears defense is better than I thought. The pack should crush the bears at home next time. Pretty tough to win with 18 penalties....
