PikeBayCommanche
The chase is the dumbest idea ever. His best tracks all seem to be in the Chase and he just does enough during the year to get in and then turns it on. If he wins again color me bored with it. If it was the old points wouldn't he be in like 5th with no chance to catch the leader?
SkunkedAgain
Yes, but remember it was too boring to reward a driver for consistently being the best driver in a season. NASCAR had to create a 26-race preseason and then let only ten drivers race for "the championship."Give me an old-fashioned Winston Cup champion any day. gr8icefishinmind
The main point is that NASCAR in general is getting boring with how the guys are driving these past few years! This year has been a little better! If you watched the race this weekend i'm sure you noticed ALOT of vacant seats at the track! that race was rediculously boring. As a matter of fact most, if not all, big tracks are boring to watch!! What would be fun to see is EVERY track be raced with a restrictor plate!! Then we will be able to see who is the best driver!!! harvey lee
Jimmy just may be the greatest NASCAR driver EVER. Only time will tell.
jeffreyd
its all rigged
harvey lee
Saying it's rigged is foolish. Its not that the final chase tracks are good for JJ, heck JJ wins at them all.He is the next great NASCAR driver.
gregg52
I agree he can drive but I think alot has to go to the chemistry betwwen him and knaus one has to wonder how good either would be without the other The other Hendricks teams arnt that good so you cant say its Hendricks money..which I 'm sure doesnt hurt
jwhjr
JJ and his team do what it takes to win based on the format that's in place. They have something figured out over the last 4+ years you can't deny that. He gets a bad rap because of how vanilla he is and how pc the sport has become. He may not be the most popular driver, but you can't argue with success (which the most popular driver definitely has NOT had).
gregg52
(which the most popular driver definitely has NOT had). aint that the truth...and i dont see alot of steady improvement either
harvey lee
I agree he can drive but I think alot has to go to the chemistry betwwen him and knaus one has to wonder how good either would be without the other The other Hendricks teams arnt that good so you cant say its Hendricks money..which I 'm sure doesnt hurt It's almost all chemistry. Look at Gordon and Everham, same thing there. But, it does also take very good cars and a good system in place back at the shop too.
PikeBayCommanche
The point is the Chase has produced no more excitement than the way it was in the past. Jimmy just plays vanilla all year. Then in chase pulls out all the stuff they have been testing the whole year. It is too predictable. harvey lee
One does have to give credit to the Jihnson team for having it all together for the Chase. All teams have that same option.
gregg52
well do remember he was 25th the week before so maybe another couple of races before we give it to him on a platter but i agree with its kinda...here we go again...ho..hum
LMITOUT
its all rigged I'm guessing Bowyer would agree.
gregg52
ya i think thats makin NASCAR look pretty sad IMOthey get any more empty seats than they had at Dover Nascar and the tracks will be the next ones in forclosure Or the next bailout........lol
gr8icefishinmind
They would get more fans in the stands if all of these tracks were dirt tracks and they were racing late-mods or super stocks!!! Way more excitment and if it was nationally televised would probably fill up a track like dover if it was dirt!!
harvey lee
But the TV stations will not cover much for dirt races. I agree that there is way more action for the fans and the racing is much better but I guess it does not sell.We talked at the IMCA SuperNationals this year and wondered why there is no coverage. 3 days of some of the best dirt action in the nation.Heck it is hard to find a WOO race on TV.The TV coverage follows the dollars and that's NASCAR. Double D
And how many Nascar drivers came from a dirt track start? A lot. You still even hear of a few lining up dirt rides on some mid size tracks during the off days.DD
harvey lee
But their is no TV coverage even if a few cup drivers go to play on dirt.It takes advertisers to show it on the tube and NASCAR draws.I do not know why but it is.
tunrevir
It sounds like there is starting to be more interest in televising the chili bowl which is dirt tracking and nascar boys. I'd like to see more dirt tracks televised as well. A whole lot of action on dirt. As far as giving the title to unibrow, I'm not going there yet. Anything can happen during a race and it seems the horseshoe fell out of his rear this year so I am hoping for a new or different cup winner this year to put a little excitement back into the series.Tunrevir~
harvey lee
There was a great Lucas Oil Late Model and Modified show at the Knoxville Speedway in Iowa that could have been on TV. Would have been way better than a cup race. From Moyer to Bloomquist and the rest, a great show.
harvey lee
It was looking to be a tough day for JJ after his 20th place start. Then after his 1st pit, he came out 28th. Then JJ ends up second. After the first 6 races at Kansas during the chase, 4 times the leader after Kansas has won the chase. JJ has been the leader all 4 times. Look who now is in 1st again after Kansas.Unless JJ has a ton of bad luck, this chase may be all over.JJ maybe inline for #5.
LMITOUT
Heh Heh....my Kyle Busch hex continues. Every time I pick him in the NASCAR league he has a miserable day....and I can still use him 5 more times!
harvey lee
I have always said Kyle cannot win a Cup championship until he grows up.He cannot afford to continue to mess up in the big races. He simply makes way to many enemies and they will never let him win it all.Thats simply the facts.
