Time to trade?

I think the Twins with $$$ and Ramos/etc could get Kyle Lohse. JUST KIDDING. I really think they could be in the mix for SORIA, but the price is a little heavy being in the same DIV. Dallas Braden is one more name I've heard for big time potential and trade material. Oakland is improving, but with Lee and HAREN in the DIv,, they will be looking to make a move like Oakland usually does.

Apparently the Royals are willing to listen to offers for Greinke. He's not having the best year, but he won the Cy Young last year and is only 26.

Apparently the asking price is both arms and both legs. But if it came down to Greinke or Oswalt I'd much prefer Greinke based on age and American League experience.

Hopefully the Twins rough him up tonight and I look like an [PoorWordUsage] tomorrow!

I only see the Twins doing what they always have, sit and do nothing. Yes they could win the division maybe but that will be it.

Thye Twins cannot handle the other good teams in the East or elsewhere.

I will be shocked to see the Twins make a trade for a good pitcher.

Greinke is the guy I want. I believe he is tanking it on purpose to get out of KC. But it's doubtful the Royals will trade him within the division with out the price being to high if at all.

Trading to a division rival is only a rule if you're a contender, year in and year out. Not a problem with the Royals since 03. Greinke has rebounded decently lately, started out what, 0-7 and is 6-9 now. I would love to have him and Guillen here.

Twin's aren't likely to make ANY blockbuster moves now that the lineup is starting to produce more like we expected at the beginning of the year. Top to bottom strong. Pitching is coming back around now also. I sure wouldn't give up top prospects for Grienke...how do you spell 1 year wonder???

I agree too, the Twins won't make any block buster trades for Oswalt or Lilly or Grienke. The only thing I see them doing is more than likely trading for relief pitching (Jason Frasor, Scott Downs, and Kevin Gregg all blue jays) now that Duensing is in the rotation. The Twins will do what they do best and use what they got...if guys stay healthy and when O-Hud, and Morneau come back will help to make a final push to win the central.

The tigers just lost 2 good bats out of their line up (Guillen & Ordonez), and don't have the pitching to keep up, and the White Sox had a good run in June, but I just don't see them keeping up either with Peavy done, Danks carrying the staff & Buerhle pitching ok, Garcia got tagged for 7 runs in 2 innings last Saturday, and Floyd is like Baker you never know what kind of outing your gonna get, and the white sox only reliable power is coming from Rios, Konerko, and injury plagued Quentin. As far as us competing against the rangers, angels, yanks, rays and red sox time will tell, but it should be a decent battle all it takes is a team to get hot in the playoffs and the rest takes care of itself.

There are 3 pitchers I would want the Twins to go after yet, Oswalt, Edwin Jackson, and Grienke. I think they should make a serious push to get Oswalt. Sure he will cost us a few of our top minor leagures, and he comes with a hefty price, but then we would have a good #1 pitcher for several more years, to either take over the #1 spot from Pavono, or to compete for it, then we would then have a good #1 and 2. Assuming we resign Pavono this year.

I think Grienke would be a nice fit in MN. He knows the league well, we all know what he is capable of, and even though he is having a mediocre year, you have to remember who he is playing for.

Edwin Jackson, he wont be our #1 pitcher, but he would be a good inning eater, and he would come cheap. He wouldnt be a lot better then what we have, but he could be a work horse and eat some good innings.
