Is there anybody in here, other than Geno, who thinks the National League has any sort of a chance in the game Tuesday?

Poll on TV had American League 73% to 27% (Geno does have a few friends out there! LOL)

Somebody get creative and come up with a push button poll thingy we can do.

I will cast the first vote American League 11 to 3!

the NL may not be as good overall as the AL, BUT this is the year of the pitcher in the NL. Look at the top NL pitchers right now;

Ubaldo Jimenez (15-1, 2.19 ERA, 1.04 WHIP)

Adam Wainwright (13-5, 2.11 ERA, 1.00 WHIP)

Roy Halladay (10-7, 2.18 ERA, 1.05 WHIP)

Josh Johnson (9-3, 1.69 ERA, 0.95 WHIP)

Tim Lincecum (9-4, 3.16 ERA, 1.27 WHIP)

Granted all those numbers aren't directly compared to AL pitchers numbers because of the difference of having a DH, often times one of the best hitters in a lineup [AL] vs a pitcher [NL] in the batting order. However, I don't think anyone can take away from the year Ubaldo, Wainwright, JJ and Halladay are having. These are all "ace" pitchers who are having career years (with the exception of Lincecum, and maybe Halladay because doc pitches like this every year). It is going to be very interesting to see how these studly arms match up against the big AL bats. I think there are going to be a lot more strikeouts compared to home runs than people are initially guessing.

I think it is going to be a lot closer game then everyone is calling for because of the strength of the Starting Pitchers in the National League this year, but I am sticking with my "home league" and calling for the AL to pull off the win.

I think the AL bats will have a tough time seeing these first few NL pitchers (Ubaldo, JJ, Wainwright and Halladay), and it is always tough for batter to face a new pitcher each at bat. They don't get a chance to see a few pitches and get used to the pitcher. On a similar note, with pitchers only pitching an inning or two, it's harder for them to get into a rolling groove like they are used to. The great thing about AL vs NL is seeing all these matchups you never get to see during the regular season (w/ the exception of limited inter league play). It was nice having Roy Halladay on the AL All Star Team for the last 7 years, and now it is going to suck to have to go against him and his lights out stuff

Score Prediction: AL 6 - NL 4

Windy, it's a little scary how well you know me.

I say there are three chances for the NL: slim, fat, and none!

Really though, out of all the pro all-star games, baseball has me interested 1000 times more than hockey, bball, or football. Those sports have risk of injury so I kinda understand.

This ain't the WSeries, but my prediction is that the winner will be the team with the fewest ex or current-Cubs on it.

Are you sure the poll wasn't 73% don't care and 27% do? This game was fun to watch for me when I was way younger, not anymore. Just like the NFL Pro Bowl.

Still can't get over this decides home field for the WS instead of better records between the two teams involved in the WS. Bud Seligs got his rug sewn on way too tight

Man am I getting OLD! I just woke up in my recliner to a poker game on TV. I slept thru the dang game! I was watching Ubaldo pitch one inning and the next thing I see is POKER! I guess an early round of golf on a hot day will tire you out but GEEZ! LOL

I guess all I can say is congrats to the NL. From what I read on MLB it was a pretty low scoring pitchers game.

Oh well, my beloved Pale Hose are gonna have to beat some NL team in the WS this year without home field advantage! Let the second half begin!

interesting game....CUB player made great play.... sick.

YANKEE and WSOX pitchers got hammered.... grin

Girardi had no one to pinch run for Ortis?.... confused

A-ROD stayed on the bench?.... confused

The steady stream of AVERAGE pitchers for AL after 6th...where were the "lights-out closers" from previous years? cry

Girardi was out managed!!!
