urban cowboy
Compared to openers in the past? Are there tons of boats out there?
goblueM
where i was fishing i was surprised at the lack of pressure Saturday, but there were almost twice as many boats out on Sunday. very strange indeed
ole matty
Forest lake was packed on Sunday. I was first guy to get to access at 430ish but There was long lines of rig access 5-530am.. Everywhere you turn there's Muskie anglers. Even seen 5 boats work same small area. Had enough of it so I left at 1030am
Lare Pie
always, packed like a zoo. that's why i went over to WI. more quiet over there on MN opener.
brad coin
ole mattydont judge Forrest based on that day has there was an organized muskie outing out there so that may be why it seemed more crowded
Nick Kuhn
always, packed like a zoo. that's why i went over to WI. more quiet over there on MN opener. I had a whole lake to myself for most of a beautiful Sunday afternoon/evening over there. Boated 2 little guys but even if I hadn't it still would have been a fantastic day on the water. brmuskie
The lake I was on was packed on Saturday. That was the most boats I have ever seen on that lake. Sunday was a lot quieter.
fishcast
even during the week there has been a lot of pressure in north central mn
riverkid21
metro lake I was on tonight had tons of boats. even with the windy windy conditions.
Musky Buck
Because of past pressure we tried a new lake to open up on and the pressure was incredible but irrelevant in a way as we saw 1 fish boated out of 40+ rigs.
ETH310
Went out Wednesday morning on Bald Eagle. Couldn't believe the amount of pressure for a mid week morning. Just about every boat I saw was throwing for muskies. Fished from 5am to 10:30am. When I left at 10:30, the lot was almost full. The pike were biting but no skis. VMS
Gotta remember everyone, tournament this weekend on the waters mentioned here, so that might be why the pressure is up on some lakes. Metro Muskie Tournament on 16 different waters this Saturday, and if people are entered, they are probably searching for some sort of pattern to get a heads up for Saturday...Just a thoughtSteve
cherokee
I didn't see tonka on the list for the tournament. Is that correct?
JRedig
Pressure remains anywhere from stupid to retarded this week...lol. Tonka hasn't been on the list from the get go, I believe it's because the george tourney cover it and there was a possibility of a MAC event being there. What a pipe dream that circuit is/was...lol. cherokee
Thanks, hate showing up at a lake when a tourney is going on.
FutbolGuru
Got out Wednesday evening on a metro lake and there was quite a bit of competition - one of every two boats fishing appeared to be throwing big lures. We boated a 43 fairly quickly and all of the sudden the pressure didn't seem like a very big deal Musky fishing is attracting more and more anglers every year... JRedig
Way too many cool jocks out there lookin' for trophies and acting like dinks. No doubt, how about the guy the other night who came up and fished in the same corner I was in at 11pm at night. I could see over 2500 acres of water and we were the only two boats out there, ended up thumbing casts to keep it away from them. Get a clue you morons. RuKiddingMe
was out yesterday morning/afternoon and today morning/afternoon and was sick to my stomach the amount on people on the lake throwing for skis, t-storms/rain, wind (east wind at that), cooling water temps, more rain and wind, pass fronts, talk about less then ideal conditions, but there were still people out in the middle of the week... remember when people had jobs? I had the time off work... guess wednesday, thursday and friday are all the new saturday.
Stringerless!
Had to run into Fl so I decided to count trailers in the public lot in town. Over 50 ! Looked like a guy could get across the lake jumping from boat to boat on the channel between 1 and 2.
RuKiddingMe
Stringerless - that just makes me ill - so pretty good odds the fish will need a month to recover at being smacked in the head all day...How much fun do you really think it is to be fishing on a lake that is that busy, I would rather stay home and pound my thumb with a hammer repeatedly.Matt
bronzeback
i hate to think about what the pressure there is going to do to the pressure around here. Opener was scary busy, but the rest of the week was manageable. I've run into some idiots on the water around here, and sadly to say it's usually not the local guys. Hopefully the people that do make the drive to fish around here are the ones with some manners.
Stringerless!
Bronzeback, If you see someone with manners post a pic! That would be like a picture of Bigfoot these days ! LOL
cherokee
Agree, most don't have manners. Just what I see. Been fishing muskies for 30 years now and I've ran into some of the rudest musky guys over the last few years. Not only here in the metro but north on some well known lakes as well.In regards to tournaments. I think they are getting out of hand and should be limited to one a year to support muskies inc and restocking efforts. Other than that way too much pressure on the muskies.
