i was in that funk last year i went like 5 or 6 times all last year, ive gone twice that many times so far this year plus its my new love of catchin them cats to

Ya I'm staying in town myself. Idk if I'm going to get out and fish this weekend but I have been trying to get out as much as possible during the week. I was hoping to hit up a little lake by the house that is usually very quiet so we will see what happens. Not much parking at the landing so if the lot is full I'm gonna stay home.

Opener was a no go for me too but I tend to be on edge if there is a lot of traffic @ the lake. I was more than happy to drink premiums in the backyard and grill a little.

i am at the lake now, leaving in the morning, and will not go back till monday night or tuesday morning. holiday weekends are the times i stay away. hope your trip to leech goes well!

This open water season sucks so far! This is the least amount of fishing I've done in years! I haven't even gotten to work on my boat yet! Luckily I'll be chasing some smallies tomorrow, so hopefully that'll make up for time lost.

You live in Burnsville, 10 minutes away from an amazing fishery known as the Minnesota River. Who needs to go up north when you have that in your backyard?

HA! I'm in the same boat as you, exactly the same, I'm leaving for leech Wednesday morning until Sunday, staying near federal dam.

I have a decent excuse though, a 2 month old baby and a 2 1/2 year old toddler can really put a damper on a guys fishing

I am sure I am in the minority, but 2 weekends I try to avoid are opener and Memorial Day. There are just too many people on opener and a lot of recreational boaters on Memorial weekend. And that is fine with me, everybody has their right to the water, there are 50 other weekends a year to fish in moderate peace.

Yeah, dont feel bad about missing out on the circus this weekend. I wont go up Memorial, 4th of July, or Labor Day anymore. Its just not worth the hassle when other weekends have a fraction of the people.

I always find myself working this weekend the last few years. Luckily, my family is enjoying time on Rush Lake in Ottertail County. They come back tomorrow in time to join me for the Twins game though! Then working again on Monday.

I get fishing time in the middle of the week, which is nice if you want to avoid crowds, but not so nice if you want many of your Monday-Friday 9-5 type friends to join you.
