Young/Kubel/Thome

When is thome going to take kubel's place as the everyday DH? He has a better batting average, more HR's, higher on base %, and higher slugging %. Get kubel out of there! Keep young as the everyday LF also, way better average, and a little more speed on the bases. All I keep hearing is kubel will snap out of it...well, let him do it in AAA! Doesn't make any sense keeping his .214 average in the lineup.

i would also like to see thome at the plate more kubel is a great player and he is in a funk right now so i dont think they should send him to AAA maybe let him sit for a few games relax let his muscles heal up if he got any health problems then give him some at bats but man he is stinkin it up so far this year. Glad i dumped him on my fantasy team after about the second week of the season

Oh yea of short memory, what about his solid gold performance in the race last year and in game 163. all that's gonna comeback real soon and Thome's still going to be an old man.

We are number 1 defensively

fourth in pitching and the yanks are fifth.

it's a long season and Kubel did get revenge for Aholes grand slam.

Get rid of punto or Harris if it's the slugging.

OK, so even though I'm pretty much calling for kubel's head in this thread. I do believe lastnight's game would've been a good spot for him to pinch hit for young. He would've had the confidence factor given what happened last time he faced rivera.

So far we have to get rid of Kubel, Punto and Baker and also Ulger and Gardy. If we have a few more slumping players that we can get rid of we can become the Baltimore Orioles.

Now that's funny! smile

Once again I'll take full credit for fueling the fire that got kubel to perform lastnight. But it's going to take more than 1 game to convince me he deserves to be an everyday player. Let's see how he does this weekend.

Will a whole season convince you? Take a look back at last season.

Kubel was in the top 20 in RBIs last year (having nearly 100 less plate appearances then the leaders) and he slumps for a while and people want crucifixion. I wonder how quick other teams would ship out a +/- 30 HR and 100+ RBI guy? I know 31 other teams that would take him in a heartbeat! If Mauer was batting lower 200-something, would we send him to Rochester? Fact is, Kubel and Blackburn are directly responsible for getting the ROAD and HOME Yankee monkeys off our back with stellar performances in both series. Kubel produced 9 (NINE!) RBIs in three swings of the bat against the pinstripes this year. Can I get an amen?
