SkunkedAgain
I admit that since moving to this state more than 15 years ago, I have never eaten Spam. What's wrong with me? Meat in a can? It's the perfect combination just like pizza in a cup!So I'm going to have a Spam potluck with a buddy and his wife, who also have never had Spam. We're going to find some recipes and whip up a few meals. Who has a good Spam recipe? Let's here 'em.
pikedreams
My old college buddy came up with this one years ago and it's actually pretty good. We were always broke back then and had to get creative to strech that food dollar.Start with a can of SpamA can of pizza sauceA good sized chunk of Velvetta (you can also used shredded chedder but Velvetta melts nicer)A pack of english muffinsUsing a potatoe masher or something simular mash the Spam and Velvetta to an even consistancy then pour in the pizza sauce and mix well. Add seasonings as you wish, like oregano or parmesan whatever you like. Set that aside and pre toast the muffins. Place the toasted muffins on a sheet and spoon on the spam mixture then place under the broiler until it gets bubbly and the cheese is melty. Grab an adult beverage and sit back and enjoy a crispy mini Spam pizza!
picksbigwagon
My mom used to finely dice spam and add it to pancakes or as we called them, SPAMcakeswe basically use spam for camping now. Spam and egg burrito's, takes about 10 minutes to make a breakfast that sticks with you all day long....

Fazerfish
My friend's mom used to make this and I still love it, best tasting spam recipe ever:Mix one can of baked beans with a few squirts ketchup, couple dashes worcestershire sauce, and maybe 1/2 cup brown sugar and spread in a greased glass baking dish. slice spam, 1/4" to 1/8" thick and lay in 2 rows on top of the beans mixture. Cover with tin foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove the tin foil 20 minutes before the end to make the spam crispy, or throw on the broiler for the last couple minutes. Place one slice of cheese on each piece of spam and keep in the oven til melted. Salt and pepper and serve.

ThunderLund78
Slice into 1/4" slices, panfry (no oil needed, it makes it's own like bacon), put on wheat toast with mayo and mustard. Simply delicious.

Joe's Kid
Here's one I found that is very good. You may want to make a bigger batch.Coconut Beer Batter Spam with Raspberry Horseradish Sauce Yield: 4 Servings 2 3/4 c Flour 2 tb Oil 2 Eggs 3/4 c Cold water 2 c Beer, flat 3/4 ts Salt Dash pepper 1 1/2 ts Garlic powder 12 oz (1 can) Spam or Spam Lite 2 c Shredded coconut RASPBERRY SAUCE: 1 c Raspberry sauce or jelly 3 tb Horseradish sauce Open beer and leave at room temperature over night. Chill beer and then add water, oil and eggs. Mix just enough to break the egg yokes. In separate bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add to liquid ingredients, while stirring slowly. Add coconut and stir slowly. Prepare deep fryer as directed by manufacturer. When oil is ready, dip one inch wide strips of Spam in beer batter and deep fry until they float to the surface. To make raspberry sauce, combine raspberry syrup or jelly with horseradish sauce in small bowl. Dip in raspberry sauce and enjoy. Surface Tension
1. open can 2. cut into think slices 3. enjoy until the wife see you eating it! guess nothing good is healthy.... Yep, cold spam is good spam. Heating it up is weird to me. Like frying baloney or liverwurst. Believe it or not, Hawaii was a huge user of spam, with that a lot of recipes. Mid-Lake Rock
I love Spam. Here are some of my favorites. 1. Do a search for Spam Musubi. It is the most popular snack food in Hawaii. Basically, make some sushi rice, have some nori (seaweed) ready and saute Spam in teriyaki or other sauce and make a Spam/sushi roll. 2. I also like to marinate Spam in a combination of teriyaki and dumpling sauce and fry in a pan, eat with eggs. 3. Grate Spam with a cheese grater and mix with scrambled eggs.4. Eat it cold out of the can - yum. 5. Bachelor's dinner. Take a block of spam, use a knife and cut a diamond pattern on top. Brush on some honey, stick cloves in the top of the Spam and bake like an easter ham. My buddy's parents got divorced when we were in high school and this was the only thing his dad could cook. 6. Cut spam into cylinders and grill. Place on hot dog bun with mustard, onions and relish. 7. Go to Blue Door Pub and order some Spam Curds. If you ever shop online, you can find specialty Spam products that Hormel makes for overseas consumers. It includes Spam with cheese, garlic Spam, black pepper Spam, etc. I picked up a few varieties at the Spam booth at the State Fair.
ThunderLund78
When I was out there, I learned that Hawaii consumes more spam per ca pita than any other state! I believe it was due to Spam being an integral part of field rations in WWII. All the soldiers that went to battle in the Pacific via Pearl Harbor had it and liked it and it spread through the civilian population. hanson
I like to fry Spam in a pan, cut it up into small pieces, and then mix it with Mac & Cheese.
