I've heard multiple complains about the graphics not being that great. Why would they take a step back in graphics? Makes no sense. WoW had good graphics.

The easiest way to make graphics look good is to wash them to the point where they are practically black and white (in WaW everything is grayish brownish). The instant you start adding more color, the less real the game starts to look.

Just got my copy.... will be starting campaign with the kid after dinner. Then hopefully some Multiplayer.

I will be keeping my MW2.... forever... Even playing what I thought to be my last rounds over the last couple days.... there is no way I could trade this game in... It will become a classic.

Getting pumped to finish up work and get rolling on this one.

I can say I'm pumped for this, but I haven't been playing games hardly at all for the past month or so, so I've toned down the anticipation which is helping to get through this work day.

I see what your saying, but I still don't understand the step back from MW2. If anything the graphics were improved from MW1 to WaW (seemed crisper, albeit not as bright). MW2 seemed brighter than WaW with the same quality of graphics.

Got attack dogs and chopper gunner today. The dogs absolutely tore it up. I think they got me 10 kills. Chopper gunner is a little more balanced in this one. It seems your huey does a lap around the level and essentially has a mini gun turret (think MW2 turrets) but it doesnt have the "splash damage" like MW2 chopper gunners, you actually have to hit what your aiming at. I think I got 5 kills with it.

If you are getting those kill streaks I should be able to jump right in and do alright id say Of course I have to learn the maps quick though.

Ok, was MW2less for all of about 15 minutes. Stopped by Gamestop to look and think of maybe picking up a Turtle Beach headset. I ended up paying $15.00 for a guys copy after he declined the non-prebuy trade in price today of MW2 of only $8. If you are going to game stop today or tomorrow, bring some $10's,$5's,$1's. You can hit people carrying in their trades in and turn them very easy for $10-$20 profit. I had seen at least 5-6 trading in at the store.

WaW was terrible compared to COD4, and if Black Ops is bad then it just seals the deal that Treyarch is a failure at producing decent games and succeeding at running a good brand into the toilet. Thankfully Infinity Ward is there to save it every other release.

Except that a good portion of Infinity Ward's staff has quit due to various grievances. Coupled with oversaturation, I'd say the CoD franchise has peaked already.

I am still out to lunch if I just got burned on a MW2 exact (I know COD/MW2) ripoff with little change. The interface and changes are cool. Found my calling with the flame thrower. Just got done sitting in a corner with slight of hand and touching everyone who came threw the door. Off and going to bed on at 11:30 on release day. This is the first big release I have been involved with in regards to the Xbox, but I have stayed up all night before with a new system or game before. Hate to say it but after Dtro & Andy got off I really thought of throwing MW2. I tell ya MW2 after the first night on on-line I knew I was hooked. This one I am not sure. Still have to let it work on me.

The PS3 version seems to me to be WaW all over again with updated weapons.

If I wouldn't have bailed on MW2 for the $30, I'd be selling this one and staying with that.

IMO, they put too much into all the stats stuff, made it too techie.

It's the way Madden was a couple of years ago, or maybe it was in '10, and then they came out with "run and gun" mode.

I think B.O. (as I think it's going to come known as) went too far into the stats and breakdown of every shot and didn't fulfill to what most are going to want, and that's better graphics and gameplay than MW2.

Also, did anyone else get an error tonight?

I was trying to join riverrat and DD on the PS3 and it kept saying that my playlist data was newer than who I was trying to join, and that I couldn't join until they restarted.

Dude I am so jealous of all of you. I absolutely love Modern Warfare 1 and 2 and would really like to own Black Ops.

The only problem is...I STILL DON'T OWN A SYSTEM TO PLAY IT ON.

Am I the only person in the world who plays PS2 daily as their main system?

I'm never a huge fan of these games the f1rst few nights because I'm stuck w/ a weapon that is not my fav. Hopefully I can get to weapon that I like (i.e. light automatic rifle). I'm too sloppy to do alot of damage w/ the M16. The M16 3 shot burst pretty much ensures that I will wound someone before they end up smoking me.

Things I learned about B.O. last night.

#1 It stinks to start out on level one, when you can't do anything cool till level 4-5.

#2 It doesn't take long to get to level 4-5

#3 Ghost, Ninja, and silencers are my friend.

#4 Stealing a care pack that has a really #^&@*@ cool helicopter is awesome.

#5 I can die a happy man, while I stink at the game, I can say I won once. top dog, big kahoona, numbero uno, the big cheese. Score champ....

#6 Thunder is human, he doesnt win every game. See #5... Remember I won once. Did I mention that?

#7 Rat can ALMOST catch himself using "poor" language when he knows there is a youth playing. Almost

#8 Saying "hey, look at that cool car" isn't so cool when it blows you up.

#9 No, you cant jump over fire. I dont think I would ignite that quickly in real life.

#10 I didnt think the graphics or gameplay was as bad as the above posters.

#11 I really dont like it when some stupid rocket takes off and shakes my whole screen. (I did make it to the bathroom before my dinner decided I didnt need the extra calories.)

#12 I was thinking "man, look how huge all the boards are"... until you play the board that is like 2 houses, and 2 busses and two back yards.. IT IS POSSIBLE to die 30 times.. whoed a thunk?

#13 its way to easy to get a spy plane. But also easy to shoot them down.( Good job Rat)

#14 Just because you earn a gun, does not mean you have to buy it. Your money goes bye bye really fast and you cant get it back.

It was odd that I and Jack were able to play with you guys for a while, but then I couldn't get back in with you.

Did you get an error when I tried to invite you last night?

Also, don't be too excited. Jack got a better score than you once or twice and we were playing 2 people on one screen.

Jack's excited about that, now we can play at the same time and not have to take turns.

Now I just have to figure out how to get his own name on there so he can rack up the XP points too.

I did better once I was able to play S&D. You can rack up some serious points then.

Made it to level 18 last night, then had to go to bed.

Yeah, I say give it a few days guys, I really like it actually.

It's a good change. They actually added in a little skill level for shooting people, you just can't give a couple of taps and take someone out on the other side of the map with a pistol.

I'm not a big stats guy either, so I just ignore them.

I REALLY like the contracts and the money system. Very good idea. The wager matches should be fun too. The only problem is that it is like real life for me......I cannot save a dime.

One thing I don't like is the footstep sound effects. I kept finding myself spinning around looking for someone, when it was only my own footsteps I was hearing. For that reason alone, I went with Ninja.

I like the Map voting system and the maps themselves are really cool. The soundtracks are sweet.

For me the overall feel is a little less "acrady" and to me that is a good thing, however I cannot see me getting any high kill streaks without being able to use the rewards to rack them up. That is going to be very tough in this game.

Not sure it tops MW2, but it's right up there and will keep me busy all winter I'm sure. Pretty cheap entertainment actually.

I agree with most of the comments above.

The explosive knife thing is the only lame thing I have found so far.

The stats are overkill. All I care about is W/L & K/D.

Love being able to vote for the map.

Had some of my best games with the Famas/Silencer/Extended Mags.

I thought the graphics of the environment/world were better the MW2.

Love the big, multidimensional maps, although it can be hard to find/stay on top of the action some times.

Got a lot of kills with the attack helicopter, zero with Napalm (twice).

It is fun playing with you specially. I love the excitement and commentary when things go your way! You did well last night and you are on the same curve as everyone else. Beginner, heck you did better than me most times.
