MJ1657
There was a story about this guy with a pictures of his work. I believe it was in Conservation Volunteer but I can't remember for sure. His fish carvings are incredible.
Gordie
I dont think that should be called wood carving its more like a work of Art or its easy to say that that is taxidermist quality
merkman
I believe it was in Conservation Volunteer but I can't remember for sure. That was probably Bob Johnson from the Brainerd area.He works with many of the school kids there to teach them how to carve and paint decoys. He is a big competitor at the decoy shows, guides darkhouse spearing trips - (focusing on look and release of the larger fish and harvesting the good eaters), he is a heck of a good guy to too!!Roger, the guy in the photo above has been very active in darkhouse spearing for many years, many of the rights/privleges we darkhouse spearers enjoy today are from his hard work over the years. shamalex72
There was story about him in the outdoor news. He used to be taxidemist, it realy shows in how detailed the decoys are. I think it took him three days just to do the scales. Said he was offered two grand for that pike decoy.
