YAY- lets sit in the snow!!! No roof on this stadiums about as smart as a boat with a 5x5 foot hole in the bottom. I won't be at a home game until May 20th at the earliest. I have froze my behind off at Kauffman in KC in early april, not fun.

Yeah zamboni, we all know how you feel about the new stadium. No need to dump on the rest of us who are excited about it.

Do you hunt? Or fish? Never did that in the rain or cold? He11, I've sat in trees at 30 below. Think a little poor spring weather's gonna keep me from the best game in town? NOT!

You don't like it? Fine. Stay home, just don't dis on those of us who are gonna be there.

I am excited about it as well. After attending 100+ games at Kauffman, nothing beats sitting in the sun drinking a beer watching a game. Of course I hunt and ice fish. I sit in a heated shanty and when hunting I layer about 5 deep and stay warm plus moving helps keeping warm. Sitting in the stands for 3+ hours is a different story. I love the looks of Target Field, and I really can't wait to go to a game there, but they could have found the funds for the roof somewhere, and the Pohlads pocketbooks shoulda been the first place to look.

I can't disagree with you, but have been to the newer nicer retractable roof stadiums (Milwaukee, Seattle) and even with the roof open it's still like being in a building with no roof. There is no open air feel about it. They are stadiums, not parks. Being to Kaufman (one of my favorites, right up there with St. Louis and Denver) you know what I mean.

So I registered a while back under several email accounts hopeing to win a chance. I got the following email the other day:

Dear Twins Fan,

Thank you for registering for a chance to purchase tickets to the Minnesota Twins Inaugural Opening Series vs. the Boston Red Sox. We were thrilled with the incredible amount of interest and the number of registrants. Unfortunately, your entry was not selected for this ticket purchase opportunity.

So what are my odds if I call in March 13th, or should I start looking on some online sights and just pay a little more. I am more concerned about getting tickets then what its going to cost. But if there is a chance I can pay face value on the 13th I will try for that. I just really want to be at that first game vs Boston.

I got this response from my sign up. Hoping to get some tickets, but not overly confident.

CONGRATULATIONS! You will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to one of the Inaugural Opening Series games at Target Field

If you were selected you were given a single use password. It exipres after a) one use or B) time out of the purchase page. It only allows you to purchase 4 tickets to one of the three home opening series games... kinda sucks. With as much money people are trying to get for the exhibition tickets I can only imagine what the opener will go for... :x

You can bet if I get my 4 for the opening series, and they are commanding big $$$$, I will sell. Sure it'd be fun to go, but it will be just as fun to go a different date at face value.

Just think, open is just a little more then a month away! So what happens if the opening series is snowed/rained/ or just canceled due to cold? For all of these people paying 20 times face value to get opener tickets? Well at least they will be able to catch a double header? But we dont play Boston again here. So we would have to fill those game in on mutual days off. Talk about some over priced tickets then.

well I was preparing to go to battle tommorrow morning with as many phone and pc's I could get my fingers on to try and get tickes.

But now I see this:

The home opener on April 14-15 against the Red Sox is sold out after tickets for the series were made available through a special online ticket sale in February

The team says ticket availability is expected to be more limited in the new stadium than in the Metrodome, in part because there are about 15,000 fewer seats.

Looks like I wont be making the home opener, but will definately be going to a few games regardless.

I had about 5 "waiting for tickets" windows open this morning at 9. I think it's going to be very hard to get any Fri-Sun tickets unless you get really lucky. I had 2 windows open for non-popular weekend games, and after 45 minutes they were both still waiting.

I had three windows open for weekday games and had my choice of a Rockies Thursday game at 12:10 and a KC Thursday game at 7:10. Went with the KC game as it was in mid June and the last day of school for the kids. Should be a blast and a great way to kick off summer!

I had no problem getting tickets... they actually went on sale at 8:45, not 9:00 and I got through the virtual waiting room in about five minutes. Bought tickets to six different games. I got first row for three of the games! Cannot wait. I've got the baseball itch!
