Vikes

they were in a position to win with the 1st down at the 34. its real simple at that point...run the ball 3 times to get a few more yards and kick the field goal. Childress tried to get fancy and started sending in different personnel to "fool" the saints..and they end up getting a stupid penalty. anyone with half a brain knows you run the ball 3 times and kick it. sure, favre made a bad throw on 3rd and 15, but they never should have been in that position in the first place. that falls squarely on Childress...by the way, Childress did not put them in a position to win, the players did...in spite of the turnovers throughout the game...

They played great team ball today...but couldn't hold onto the ball.

Chilly is a very good coach.

Obviously, Hurricane Brett, Hampered by FEMA/Childress, couldn't pick up where Katrina left off. Thanks for nothing Zygi. Now watch the Hennepin county "elected officials" screw us too with another stadium.

Great season til this last game....? I couldnt disagree more! We had a great season yes, We also had a great game tonight(dispite the fumbles.). We no doubt IMO outplayed the saints. We had unfortunate turnovers in the redzone that should have been 7 each time. We had the game won in regulation by atleast 2 scores if we would have capitalized. And the 12 men in the huddle, yes that is definately a high school penalty and if that would have won us the game if that didnt happen, veteran longwell would have kicked it through. I am upset about the loss tonight but at the same time proud of the vikes that we actually made it that far. Few things different and we would be in the bowl. Good team this year and hopefully we can get a quarterback for next season to take us this far.

Heartbreaking end to a great season. this was a game of many mistakes, fumbles, INT's, and missed INT's. All of which could have changed the outcome. We where the better team tonight minus turnovers, unfortunatly they where the difference. This is now 4 NFC championship I can remember that all ended badly, when will it stop! I am 31 and starting to think I may never see the vikes in the SB.

Kitty-

totally agree. bottom line in this game -- Vikes 5 TO, Saints 1. Ever see the %% charts on what the odds are of winning a NFL game with 4 more turnovers than the oppositon?? Like 5%.

And the Vikes were soooooooooo close.

Bad Luck also--- loss of coin toss hurt.

Maybe it is karma for all the junk calls that went against teams playing the Vikings during the season. Those calls were partly what got them were they were today. May the Saints go marching in! Hopefully this will put a stop to the ranting and raving about the Vikes and how they are going to take it all. If history repeats itself the Vikes will never win the SB. The Vikes have a good team not the magical wonder that has been portrayed in the last month. Amen to it being over.

I agree...IMO Chilly, Frazier and Bevell outcoached the Saints entire staff tonight. Nice job guys...hope you're all three around again next year...

They coached well enough to be in the SuperBowl.
