2010 Bass Resolution

Deitz Dittrich

I need to learn how to fish the thick slop in a lot of these minnesota lakes. South dakota didnt have as much of the slop and was use to throwing a lot of spinnerbaits and top water. I only got a couple fish over 4 pounds last year and they were out of mille lacs. My main goal this year is to try the Mississippi and Minnetonka for the first time. Really nervous to get the boat out on the river...just a lil worried about running in to something. If anyone would be interested in showing me around on the river this spring i would be more than happy to pay for all the gas or anything else.

i am thinking of going for 1000? not sure if that is wise goal or not?

I plan to keep a tally this year...Would you count EVERY bass? I've iced 13 so far this year. 12 of those were under 14" and none of them were targeted species...

I mostly just want to make sure I spend more time chasing bass. Getting a little too caught up in the musky thing these days. Only fished lily pads twice last year. Thats just not right living around these parts.

Specific goals:

5+lb smallmouth been very close many times, ML should be able to produce this one I hope.

6+lb MN largemouth been within a few tenths 3 or 4 times

Another 8+lb largemouth, trip is planned just gotta find one

Mine is to join a local Bass fishing club and start fishing the club tournaments... really hoping to just prioritize spending time on the water and improve my adaptability to conditions.

Any recommendations on a club? As a BASS member, are most of these clubs open to new members?

fish sometimes for a cause

I fish with probally 20 good bass fishermen per year on green lake at Spicer

Also another 12 really good walleye fishermen

These are people considered to be in upper level even pro-s

my deal is to get them together to fish for fun in Fishing for A Cure tournaments[2ndMINNESOTA STATE BASS OR WALLEYE CHAMPIONSHIPS}

on Green Lake IN Spicer mn on A Monday June 14th to see whos gonna be the champs for 2010

Also we know this event is going to work so are doing a repeat for fall[combined top finish 3 teams get matching bonus for early finish fall tourney]

Moneys from event go to American cancer Society

We have raised more than $10,000 at our Relay For life fishing booth past 6 years and this spinoff tournament is hoping to raise at least 3x that in 6 years

First 1 raised $1850this one in online to double that

Look in tournament section here to enter

Last tournament had many pros and other teams but out of 13 CASH prizes only one went to pro[largest largemouth bass-still tops Green lake Tourneys for heaviest bass weighed EVER}

Some great resolutions guys! Here's an idea that I thought of today. To everyone that is trying to shed some pounds this year and make the boat go a little faster. For every pound that you loose, put $1 or $2 (or any amount you want) in a jar or "bass bank". Just before opener open it up and see how much you have and then use that money towards some new tackle or something bass fishing related. It's always nice to have a motivational tool.

I need to get better at cranking this year. I love plastics, jigs, and jerkbaits, I just need more practice. Especially lipless cranks, there's times where my main fishing partner just rips 'em on the Rattltraps and outfishes me 5-1 or more. I also wanna learn a little more about the dropshot, just started towards the end of the season last year and absolutely fell in love with 'em.

Hey good job on the 11pounds Deitz! Keep up the good work. We have one of those contests at school down here as well, but it seems that whoever gains the least amount of weight is the one who wins! LOL gotta keep those treats out of the teachers lounge!
