Viking players at it again...

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—Minnesota Vikings backup linebacker Erin Henderson(notes) was suspended for four games Tuesday for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

The suspension covers Minnesota’s final three regular-season games and first playoff game. The NFL does not specify the substances for which players test positive.

Is it just me or are Viking players in the news every week for screwing up?

Leechbait is right, it's just you. Packer player Jolly was indicted yesterdy in TX on felony drug charges and he's looking at missing a lot more than 4 games. Most people don't know about it because the Packers don't make the news much this year.

I wouldn't jump to too many conclusions on this one...it just says a performance enhancing substance. He is coming off an injury and may have been taking supplements to aid in the process of the recovery. It's probably not even anything like steroids, but rather a substance that has been known to mask steroid use like what the Williams' are accused of taking. You can't tell me that you can look at Pat Williams and think he was taking steroids instead of the diuretic that he claims he was taking....c'mon man does he look like he does roids?? As for Erin, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he's a good guy just like his brother E.J. I really don't think he was trying to cheat, rather that he was using some supplements to come off the injury. Now I know that there are going to be you tools out there that say that "They are professionals, they should know exactly what they are putting in their bodies" Give the guy a break, they also rely alot on trainers to do that sort of stuff for them.

Remember the good old days when Viking players were routinely busted for rape and wife beating and gun/drug possession and fun stuff like that? This is nothing. Henderson is a nobody. No one cares.

One good thing about Ziggy and Chilly, IMO they really cleaned up the clubhouse of all the thugs and gangsters. Now the NBA...

In my opinion they should all be made to do roids. For what they are paid to entertain us they should be as good as they can be. Heck, I don't think I would last past the snap of the ball with them bruisers, so what harm would a little enhancements do?

If I wanted to see someone going through roid rage and other issues mentioned in an earlier post, I'd go back to playing video games like Grand Theft Auto and use a few of the available cheat codes.

Never said it makes it alright, did I?? Kind of tired of people waving what other grown men do in their own time in our faces like it is OUR problem. These guys are adults, and make bad decisions, people do it all the time. From Main Street to Wall Street, not just on the Minnesota Vikings roster.

I haven't read anywhere that Erin in appealing the suspension. I would say that he has owned up to it. Just doesn't have the big name status that requires him to do a special press conference on it. I agree with Zamboni, it happens on all teams it's just that some of you feel the need to bash the Vikings for anything and everything. Again, it goes back to what I said in an earlier post. These are the guys that still can't get over the fact that the Vikings are legit this year and have a better chance than most to make it all the way this year.

I don't hear them bashing Johnny Jolly from the Packers...at least what Erin was putting into his body was most likely a leagal substance and he's not going to get 20 years behind bars if convicted of taking it.

The NFL doesn't announce the suspensions until the players appeal process is complete with the NFL. Erin isn't appealing and will take his lumps along with his lost payroll checks for 3 regular games and 1 playoff game check. This is over a $100,000 mistake he made.
