Curado and Citica Consensus

Now that the newer versions of the shimano citica and curado have been out for about a year and a half, for those of you that have them, how have they performed? Have they held up well? I'm looking to possibly get a few of each this spring. Thoughts?

i have a curado e7 and if i could i would own a boat full of them!!

I got both and if you can afford the extra change the curado is the way to go. It is my second favorite reel next to the chronarch.

Ive used them but dont own them and they are awesome reels. They are mid to higher end shimanos so no need to worry about durability, IMO. This spring I might sell my calais or 100mg for a new curado E7.

I also have the Curado E7. I used it all of the 09 season and loved it. I plan on buying a couple more other the winter, for the 10 season. The reel casts really far and is very smooth!

I switched out all my old green curados for a mix of new curado e and citica e. Have to say I like the curados over the citicas. Been using the curados for flippin and other slow presentations and leaving the citicas for throwing spinnerbaits and cranks. I use all left handed reeels. I wish they would come out with a slower gear ratio curado for the lefties. No durability complaints.

I got a few of the E7 and love it.. Great casting reel and feels good in my hands. My brother got a Citica and plans on getting another this spring.

thanks guys! superduty, I was thinking the same thing as you; using the curados for pitching and bigger line techniques and using the citicas for crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwaters, etc.

I have an E7 lefty and no complaints here... I just love that meaty handle!

Hey Superduty, If you are looking for a sweet low gear ratio lefty I recommend that you get a Abu Garcia Revo Winch. Its an awesome reel

own 4 of the E7's and love them!!!! Over the season I really beat the [PoorWordUsage] out of them and they feel like brand new. Great Reels!

That's funny Larson15, I am currently using a winch for my crankbait rod! It is an awesome reel, maybe even better than the shimanos...(Don't hate me jersey wearing prostaffers!)

I would trade it out if Shimano had a slow lefty in the e series. I like for all of my reels to "feel" the same.

I have my lefty Curado E7 matched with a St. Croix Slop-n-Frog Mojo rod. The high speed of the reel really gets them bass out of those pads fast, before they find deep water! Great Reel!!
