Marcum owner question

What are Marcum owners putting in their softpack's under the transducer so that it doesn't stick to the foam? I think it was some type of oil or lubricate. Just tried to pull mine out for the season and it was stuck. Had to polish of the foam that was stuck to the bottom.

had to do that today myself, what did you polish it with to get the rest of that foam off the bottom of the transducer

I don't use anything on either of mine, only problems I have is it freezing in if I leave i in the truck overnight.

I did not know about this so i went and checked mine and sure enough it was stuck. I would thinka little vasaline, would fix it right up.

I used a scrubby that you would use on Non Stick pots and pans

Took mine out yesterday and sure enough it was stuck.....Finnaly got it apart and had all sorts of [PoorWordUsage] on it. I did the same as Bart and used a scrubber deal when I got home....cleaned it right up. I really wish Marcum would come up with something different for storing the Ducer.

Just drill a couple of drain holes in the plastic.

Otherwise, I've been able to store the transducer sideways when I know it will be sitting out in the cold.

Same thing with my LX-5 1st time out this year. I used a small stiff plastic brush. This wasnt frozen in it was just stuck to the rubber. Im also going to drill a few water seep holes in my case.

well i dont like this thread ive never noticed the foam on the bottom ive never had a problem with it freezing before but i suddenly have the feeling it will

why did marcum change the design of the carrier. I had a original LX3 and it didn't have the new style ducer holder and it never had any problems with freezing.

I also just put the ducer on its side and then bring it in when I get home and set the ducer outside the case to dry. I think I'll keep doing that since this problem sounds messy

Just put a couple of drops of silicone caulk so that it cannot make flush contact.

I had this problem last year. Cleaned'er up and sprayed it with 3M dry silicone lube. Worked great the rest of the season. Pulled it out this year and still no problems, but I gave it another spray of the silicone lube just in case.
