StrikeMaster Question

I am curious what is the most holes you have drilled with your StrikeMaster? It was suggested in another thread that they are only good for drilling ten holes a day laugh

If I am in a house I have the 10 inch lazer bit but when I am running and gunning I use a 7 inch lazer that is lighter and goes through the ice super fast. On an average day I would guess 40-50 holes but I know I have cracked a 100 before.

Anyone have any issues long term with them when drilling a lot of holes? Mine is 7 years old now and still going strong.

The more holes you drill, and the older you get, the more you would appreciate a StrikeMaster Strike Lite 8".

That is my auger of choice. 10 holes a day??? More like 10 holes in 2 minutes!!! No fish? Then 10 more holes in 2 minutes.

it looks like the ice fishing season is opening for me this coming weekend with ice getting a little thicker. I hope to drill a bunch somewhere.

I was watching one of the ice fishing infomercials and they had a pretty good tip. drive along a break with your 4 wheeler instead of walking around with your gps and than drill along your 4 wheeler tracks. Hopefully I will get those 10 holes drilled without wearing myself out grin

I probably average 35-40 each time I go with some days well over 100.

I have had to do some general tune up stuff and change blades but other than that it has been good. I broke the fuel tank last year but that was my own fault. Not bad considering its a 1998 model. Gotta love the SM.

My wife ( which was my girlfriend at the time) bought me the fist Lazer Mag made at Hoiday Plus when there was such a place. It was in 1985. I just last year changed the spark plug for it for the first time. I average 150 to 200 holes per 3 day outing. I have never ever thought about updating to a new one. Matter of fact prince bait had one last year all tuned up for sale for $125.00. When I stopped to get it for my buddy on the way back it was gone. I just take it off the wall put new gas in it choke it and it is ready for the season. I have never ever even thought that it would never start. I have been up to lake of the woods 24 years straight and seen many augers never start but not mine. Only on my 3rd set of blades also. I've had alot of friends go thru 3 or 4 already and I'm still on #1. This still cuts like new to this day.
